Has anyone tried using the Swap Force Portal of Power with a USB extension cable?
Annoyingly the cable on the portal is just too short for the room I'm using it in. I was considering getting an extension cable so this wouldn't be a problem but I don't want to pay out if it won't work, but would like to hear other peoples' experiences with this?

Originally, I had it attached to a 10' cable. It worked, but i didn't want to deal with that long of an extension. Currently, it is attached to a 6' cable. I think the limit for USB is 15' total without using a powered extension cable.

That's great to know - thanks! Literally, it can reach my bed, but I have to sit up. It's laziness more than anything; if I can add a couple of feet to it, I'll be happy. Cheers!

Do all console Portals have the same cord length?
How does the Dark Portal cord length compare to the Regular version? (is there even any difference at all between the Regular and Dark Portal?) |

I know the Swap Force Portal's cord is definitely a foot shorter than the Giants portal. I have a 3' usb extension on mine. Works great. I think GamerDrone is right about the 15' limit. Amazon has great prices in there own brand of cords. That's where I got mine. Everywhere else was sooo expensive.

I've got a 30' cable on mine and it works great.
I've added an Amazon link for the cord I am using. http://amzn.com/B004AGX4YO |

At least we won't have to worry about buying batteries. Also, are the new Portals of Power specifically made to work on certain consoles like the one from the Wii U only works on the Wii U System, or do they work on all systems?

I've been using mine with an extension cable since Giants. Works great!

Haven't thought about using one...so...no support problems with figures going bad or anything? Does Activision support this configuration?

I have been using an extension since Giants, and I have not had any problems (well except once, although I think it was a game hiccup, as it never happened since then). If you need more length, go ahead and buy an extension cord.

Technically, I see no problems with it...just wondering how spazoid Activision would be over it. I could use a few extra feet.

The way my place is setup, I have like 4 different 20'+ USB runs for Disney Infinty, PS3 controller, Portal of Power, and Wii U controller.
No issues at all...ever. - Unreall |
