I must be stupid or something but I can't figure out how to play the fishing game in Woodsburrow.
It did give some instruction the first time which I ignored because the games were simple enough to figure out till this one.
Now it won't give the instruction again.

If the float gets close to a fish an A is displayed (it's a Wii), I press it and my controller starts vibrating, the fish swims away with the float till it hits the wall at the far end and that's it. I can press A, once or repeatedly, or hold A nothing seems to happen. I can move the rod left and right, also with no apparent result.

So how to catch these fish?

You should pull it back that wierd moving circle on the nunchuk and than press A, I don't know if this works bcuz O am on the ps3

You have to rapidly press A to reel in the fish.

And use the directional controls to move around the occasional eel and whirlpool.

I do not exactly get what you mean by 'weird moving circle'. Make circles with the stick on the nunchuck?
And 'press A', once or repeatedly or somehow in concert with the nunchuck movement?

I have been pressing A like a madman but nothing happens...

The nunchuk is the thing that's attached to the remote with c and z. Ther's also a stick which you use to walk with. Pull that to you and then press A lots of times. Again, I don't know for sure because I am on the ps3 now but the first 2 games on the wii

Solved!

Apparently the game is buggy. I rebooted my Wii and now the fishing game works as intended by pressing A repeatedly to reel the fish in.

I do not hope this is another sign of more problems to come for Swap Force on the Wii.

Bugs huh? Has anyone contacted them to see when a patch is coming? The franchise is going to tank if they allow these to go unpatched...especially the freeze.

I have a silly question as well - how do I get to the fishing game? I've completed either chapter 6 or 7, and I've watched the cutscene where they explain the fishing rod has been dropped off, and it cuts to a shot of the caverns. I've tried looking around for an entrance to get down there, but can't find anything. Am I blind or is that area just officially opened later in the game?

Go to the small beach, across and down from the upgrade pod.
