In the very beginning of Skylanders Kaos banished the original 32 to Earth. Since the Newlanders weren't there, how did they get to earth and become toy form and ultimately join the skylanders? I know in reality to make money, but story wise?

According to the storyline mentioned in recent interviews, Swap Force Skylanders are a special team of Skylanders who were assigned to protect a mystical volcano in the Cloudbreak Islands that erupts once every 100 years that replinishes the Skylanders with magic.

Kaos battled against the Swap Force, but although the Swap Force Skylanders defeated Kaos, they got too close to the volcano when it was about to erupt, and the eruption blasted them apart and sent them to Earth, but gave them the power to swap halves.

I'm guessing this takes place sometime after Giants.

Yup that's understandable, but what about the new normal sized skylanders like Countdown and others?

Yeah, like how the normal Skylanders from Giants, like Jet-Vac and Pop Fizz, appear in the prequel story novels, such as Spyro versus The Mega Monsters, that take place before SSA.

Okay, so the new normal sized skylanders took part in the battle and only being discovered recently sounds a possible explanation. Who knows, maybe hundreds of skylanders took part in the battle and have yet to be discovered.

Maybe everyone will finally see that "chinese dragon" from the trailer of SSA.

Poor proto-Camo. He was shown only to be ignored and recasted.

No, Ice, the Chinese Dragon was Camo's earlier design. He won't be making a reappearance. Camo's design still looked like the Chinese Dragon's when The Begnning trailer was made, and changes to his character design was made very late during production.

I know about that was making a joke since everyone was so obsessed with him for soooo long.

This. If they were banished ALL AROUND THE EARTH, then they must've been just recently discovered, and that means that there are many MORE to be discovered.

So, can anyone explain the Lightcore, series 2 and series 3 Skylanders, and how series 1 Spryo was trapped in the Toy Store Kaos was in, after being sent back to Skylands in the first game to WITNESS Kaos' banishment?

Maybe they should rethink the whole reposing stuff...

The Series 1 Skylander poses are the only ones shown, evident in Giants.

The other reposes are only for the gameplay I suppose.

The way I see it is that there were many battlefronts to the original war that sent the skylanders hurtling through time and space to Earth. The video shown in S:SA was just the battle that occurred closest to the epicenter of the magic blast that transported them away. The farther away they were the farther in time they were thrown. In my head the S1 characters and new core from giants as well as possibly the new core from swapcore were all present and active skylanders at the crucial moment just not in the same place.

Eon has always been recruiting new skylanders, since he passed, maybe the new portal master has been recruiting them to fight villains.

Eon's been mentioned in Jet-Vac's and Hot Dog's biographies, having recruited them, so the new Portal Master hasn't been the one taking in Skylanders.

Just for the record it was never stated that only 32 were sent to Earth. The original trailer doesn't even show all 32.

No, the very beginning is all of the books
which have Jet Vac as a skylander before the events of the first game.

Story wise, Eon sent all available Skylanders to fight Kaos during the core of light thing, and the ones he could send were the 32 "original" skylanders from the first game. The others were on missions elsewhere, and since Eon died, they weren't able to be summoned. That's why they needed a new portal master.

What about variants?

The variants don't count.

Dark Spyro counts, he had his own story line but I don't remember it exactly. I think it was something like Eon teached Spyro how to master a lot of powers and Spyro became Dark Spyro. Please correct this since it's wrong I really want to hear Dark Spyro's story.

Oh yeah, Dark Spyro is one of the few variant Skylanders to have a backstory, the others being the Legendary Skylanders.

"Spyro is a rare magical dragon with the ability to harness the power of the elements of Skylands, though he prefers to master fire. However, this innate ability with elemental powers also leaves him vulnerable to the influence of darker magic. When The Darkness is nearby, Spyro can channel its energy and combine its power with his own, becoming Dark Spyro. Over the years, he has learned to focus and control his power, using this dark magic to fight the forces of evil."

What about duplicates?

The variants are like colored versions of the same Skylanders, two toys but one Skylander in character, while duplicates like LightCores are basically the same Skylander but with different abilities. I guess in story-wise.

So activision cacth them and sell them for a high price?
If they so desperate need to save skylands why do we need to pay for them ?

RK, they weren't banished 100 years ago. They were banished in the events of Swap Force, which is in the present.

Still quite confusing, unless the Magical Eruption is happening through the whole game, Kaos' plan of unleashing Darkness with the eruption wouldnt work since the Eruption already would have happened and sent the Swap Force to Earth, Guess during the whole game, the Vulcano is still erupting...

I have no clue, but Kaos is using the volcano to unleash darkness with an "Evil-izer" machine, which is happening in the present and on a 100th year.

How did the S2 Skylanders even come???

original: recruited during and before the events of the core of light
giants: re-summoned from earth (existed years ago)
newlanders: some existed with the original, some were new recruits
swap-force: new story line, existed before, recruited during the volcano.
dark spyro: spyro's mastery of other elements
legendaries: golden statues brought to life by the strongest of portal masters in arena battles (canon, as proved in the mobile games)
variants: money-making success
in-game variants (LC, polar whirlwind): skylanders with new abilities.
S2 skylanders: money making success, skylanders with new abilities.

Each variant is still the same skylander, just stronger or with new powers.

Well.... there is no official explanation on how they were found/discovered... but we will eventually know how they became skylanders from their backstories.

Well, how does he know the difference between a S1 and S2? Like, oh you two are the same, but you get one extra upgrade that you can't have! like... what?
