Ted Price: I’m really happy for the franchise, because – when we walked away from it years ago – I was disheartened by the follow-ups to the games we had made. And now, to see it back with a fairly innovative concept is really rewarding for those of us who were on the first three Spyros.

I wonder if this will stop all the haters (admittedly less than when first revealed, but still) hating on it?

I doubt it, the haters have become stuck up in their own views for too long. If they know that the CEO of Insomniac likes Skylanders, then they'll likely still complain about wanting an old Spyro game.

From what I've seen, Insomniac trilogy fans have ultimately moved on and accepted Skylanders. Some even love it. Most of the hate I see are from LoS trilogy fans and LoS fans who pretend to have grown up with the Insomniac trilogy.

I haven't seen any haters recently, but then I avoid any sort of topic going down that road.
Not really much point wasting my time arguing with those guys.

At least Spyro's in a game that bring innovation just the first three games. Hurray?

LOL, didn't know that the creator of Spyro loved Skylanders: now I really wonder what the haters think about his comment

Except the 'joke' didn't make any sense when making it after my post, so it therefore wasn't funny.

And who made you the judge of what is and isn't funny? It wasn't even meant to be "LOL DD EPIC HILARIOUS". Just a lighthearted comment. If anything, your post made less sense. Like you were offended that he said YOTD was the last best Spyro game before Skylanders.

@D-Rex: That comment by bionicle2809 just means that everything Spyro-related released after YOTD and until Skylanders was average at best. What you wrote basically translates to "YOTD was average too," so it works if that's what you're trying to say.

Either way, can't really say I agree or disagree with any of it though since I only ever played Skylanders, but it's cool to know that the people at Insomniac are still playing Spyro games and they find Skylanders to be a worthy successor of their franchise.

Yes, that was basically what I was saying. Just.. more subtle about it since that's not exactly a popular opinion.

Ha, my post on YouTube was where Aura24 found out about this. Thanks for spreading it. I hope that it does let some of the haters look at Skylanders in different light.

I doubt that it will have any effect on LoS fans, but we'll see how the classic fans react. I already posted this on a couple of other videos and didn't get any reactions until today on Skyalnders: The Beginning.

Also, fairly having to do with Insomniac on Skylanders, weren't High Impact Games, half of which is made up of the old Spyro Insomniac team, working on a Crash Bandicoot racing game in 2010? I read that it was going to feature toys for the playable characters and, presumably, they would be used in a manner similar to Skylanders. I bring this up because of some fans who say that the old Spyro's never had the toy gimmick when Insomniac were the developers. Well, the people who worked on the old Spyro's were going to do this for Crash. Granted, the game was cancelled before a prototype was made, but still...

LoS fans only want Legend games, Insomniac fans only want Classic Spyro games made by Insomniac.

Well, this is interesting. James Stevenson, marketing lead at Insomniac, also thought Skylanders was a really cool concept. He isn't actually referring to Spyro, but I thought this was worth mentioning. http://www.insomniacgames.com/...esistance/page3
James Stevenson: Not to go way off topic, but Skylanders is a KILLER concept. We had discussed something kind of in the same ballpark (but no where near as cool as what they did) for A41 when the Critters were a bigger focus.

So far, it looks like the folks at Insomniac don't mind and are even pleased Skylanders.

This will probably get some Insomniac Spyro fans riled up.
