I got a call this morning that Wham-Shell was at my local GameStop--the guys there take very good care of me. I got down there as soon as I could to buy one, and then walked down the street to take care of some other errands. I was at the shipping place getting my mail when a kid came in with his mother's gold card to buy a package of stamps.

He saw the Skylanders package in my hand and said "cool" and then went absolutely NUTS when I told him that it was Wham-Shell and that I had bought it just down the street. He was so excited that he ran out of the store screaming! I'm sure his mother thought that someone had tried to kidnap him or something, but it was just precious.

I saw him run to the car, open the door, and start telling his mother what was going on and how she just *had* to take him to GameStop that very minute. I was curious enough to stop in at GameStop again on my way back to my office (to see if he was successful in convincing his mother to take him), and they told me he had already been in and was still so excited that he was literally jumping up and down.

Made my day, if not my week, and certainly gave me warm fuzzies to see how happy he was.

He did! I checked on the way back and the GameStop guys said he had already been in and was still jumping up and down with excitement.

Made me very glad that I'm not an evil scalper. I could easily have bought them all and made a lot of cash, but frankly the whole experience was worth a lot more than money.

You should have bought all the Wham-Shells to sell online to help get back some of your lost money. You heart may not be warm and fuzzy but your wallet will. smilie

I honestly thought about it, but I'm just not that kind of person.

Besides, one had already sold before I got there, what if that person had bought them all to scalp?

Which is why I was kidding. But some people do have that mindset you know. Sorta sad.

Yeah...we don't really need a whole topic on this. Trust me. I think that's an awesome story and I love when that stuff happens. We have a group over on facebook and a lot of our members share these types of stories and videos. But this group is filled with far to many negative people that it might just become yet another flame war. I love the idea in general and I'm sure tons of us have stories to share. But I would just fear the worst from this group...sigh.

I would call this group more the Fox network and this is something that would get aired on Lifetime.

We've already got a topic like that somewhere, Ace. Buried beneath the dredges of duplicate topics.

But I like this story. It's nice to see people being helpful to one another instead of thinking the world owes them a favour.
