What is going on with the 3DS price for the starter pack? My son has been saving up for it for a couple of weeks (sold all of his Bakugan toys) to get enough money to pay for it. I've seen the price for $69.99, $49.99, $39.99 then back up to $69.99...What is the deal? Most of that is Amazon lowering the price of all starter packs, then raising only the 3DS version? The console versions are $20 cheaper than the 3DS version on amazon right now................doesn't that seem backwards?

Best Buy has their 3DS version at $39.99...but it's backordered. I'm going to probably just take the plunge there and order it through them and wait an extra two weeks. I wish that the prices for the starter packs (At least) were a little more consistent so I could tell my son how much he needed to get this version of the game.

I believe the Target/Walmart price is still at $49.99. Or at least, it was last time I checked.

TRU (and similarly, Gamestop and Best Buy) are both up to $69.99 I'd imagine the price is lower than the consoles because a lot of people are after the Dark Spyro figure.

Good luck though! $39.99 is actually a really good deal for it!

We got our 3DS for $49.99 before my discount from Gamestop last week. Did it go back up again there too?

Online Target and Wally-world are back at 69.99 again for the 3DS. That sucks royally. I'd say lock into the Best Buy price while its low even if its backordered. Its pretty easy to find the 3DS version so they should restock quickly.

I think you can price match?

I know my local Toys R Us claims to price match. Not sure if thats just the local store or all of them. I believe Walmart claims to price match. Not sure on Target.

I might have to look into Price Match at my Walmart in town. I figured that they wouldn't price match unless it was from the store's website or something...good idea!

I know some stores (at least in canada) that do the price match will honor it in ever department except electronics, Zellers is one of them.

Just called up Walmart and they said they would price match as long as I had a print ad or sales paper that listed the price of the item. What about their official website? Nope, we usually don't price match for websites.

So I either I have to go to Best Buy, grab their sales paper, or hunt down Sunday's paper and see if they are listed in the sales paper. Then take that up to Walmart and they will sell me a copy for $39.99.

SCORE! The hunt is on for Sunday's newspaper haha.

Just an update - I'm having problems finding the 3DS version in stores now. Not sure if people are just buying it for the Dark Spyro/Ignitor exclusives but it seems to be getting harder to find.

SOOOOOO, I took the plunge and pulled the trigger on buying this online off of bestbuy.com.

I'm saving $30 but I have an estimated time of delivery of: Feb. 22 to March 6....haha! Long wait and a HUGE span of time that the item could arrive.

Stupid backorder....the price of saving some money though!

I love how people seem to think that a few weeks is a "long wait".

Try living in Europe.

Unless he really wants the figures that come with the 3DS set, just buy the game and portal on eBay - you can pick it up for around $20

Nobody matches online prices. Probably because a person with good web design skills could create a fake web site and put super low prices on whatever it is they want to buy.

Sunny Castanets - A few weeks is a long wait when usually the 3DS version is readily available in stores, not to mention it gave me a span reaching a month in length. Sorry that Europe has long waits to get products in, that sucks.

Morgan Elf- He is really wanting Ignitor and Dark Spyro. We already have Stealth Elf, but I'd like to level her up to face off against my son's since she is so powerful in battle mode.

Himewad - Yeah, totally makes sense. I found last week's sunday ads and they advertised the console versions for $49 but no mention of the 3DS version for $39...so that led me to just buying it off their site and waiting.

Just checked the prices this morning on BB.com and it is right back up there to $69. Looks like I made a good decision on pulling the trigger last night.
