Yestaday I finally treated myself to the 3ds version of skylanders. After playing with it for a while now I have to say I actually prefer that one to the console one. The main reason is because all the characters have different moves which to me seem to be a lot better then thier moves on the console version. So I just wanted to know does anyone else feel the same

Personally, although I did enjoy the 3DS version, I prefer the customization available on the console versions, as well as the co-op and PVP options. To me, this gives the console versions greater replay value, and that's the key factor for me. I can definitely see where you're coming from, though!

I am enjoying the 3DS version as it's more like a platformer than the console version. However, overall I do prefer the console version.

Yah I get where u guys r coming from I mean u do get more options on the console version, but unlike some of u I didn't enjoy pvp as much which could b why i prefer the 3ds 1. Forgeting about the extras a moment then guys, do u guys like the combat more on the 3ds version or the console 1 this is what I was trying to get at, coz to me that reminded me of the good old platforming adventures

I love them both equally. They're both so completely different I wont compare them.
I have to say though, last night while palying Multiplayer with my GF my portal of power died on my Wii version...so I plugged the 3DS version into my console and was thrilled to see that it supported two skylanders (and room for an item if necessary) though one skylander hung half off, it still read him ![]()

Yeah I was surprised also. I said to my girlfriend "Alright i'll plug this in but I dont know if we'll be able to play 2 player with this portal" and she was like "oh it's okay just finish it on your own" (we were basically done playing for the night anyways) BUT IT WORKED!

thats actually really cool lol ------------------------------------------------ also!! I have both versions and love them both in their own way. It def. gives me more of a reason to collect and play with my skylanders and it's kept me interested in them much longer then any other game(besides Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy and Harvest Moon lol)

the 3ds portal works on 3ds/pc/wii/ps3 its the most compatible portal there is. and it can read two characters + adventure or magic item. so it can read like 3 things at once. i was amazed at it being able to do that.
also i like the 3ds version, but i love the console version. 3ds was fun because it was a different adventure, like a huge side quest from the main game. so im glad i have it and can play it when im out and about, just to get my skylanders fix. and the 3ds version is super important when you h ave a broken character, its the only thing that will reset the character other than sending it to activision.

I really like the 3Ds version too....I like jumping and the game mechanics!
They have a lot of other features the console doesn't! The story is sooo much better on console, voice acting ect... I think they are both great games but console wins by a little for me!

I agree with all of this. I very much like the fact that characters have alternate moves on 3DS compared to consoles, and I really like Dark Spyro having a move set different from Spyro. I do prefer the console version overall, but the 3DS one has some great features.

Yah the console version does have alot more going for it in terms of voice acting etc, but if u could add the platforming element of the 3ds version then that would just make the perferct platformer

What are the differences when you take your figures from your 3ds to your console already at level 10. Is it better to reset them? if i don't reset do i miss out on anything or vise versa? Just wanted to know if it is better to keep them maxed or reset or just buy another set.
Any info would be great. |

All that happens is you have level 10 characters with no treasure, so you just need to grind for the treasure and choose upgrades like normal, you don't miss anything out, except leveling them up on the console |

Depends... If I have a lot of spare time, then I'd go with the 3DS one as it seems to take longer to level up - although the lack of treasure is a downside. However, if no one else is using the console, you can spam it by setting up two controllers, having one Skylander being the one you want to level up/get treasure, the other one being a high level and use the first one to beat up the second over and over. You get a lot of treasure and levels this way |
