- Is it worth the money? does the game last long?
I think so. If you're put off by the $20-30 increase, a 3-pack of figurines is about $20 (you get 3), plus it comes with a peripheral. I think it's appropriately long. The story is a little on the short/medium side, but you will probably spend more time looking for secrets and leveling up your characters.
- what system should I get it for? console or 3ds (price doesn't matter)? what's the difference?
I've only played the console one, so I'm not sure about how the 3DS one. I went with the 360 version because I personally don't like the Wiimote+nunchuck configuration of the Wii. The need for motion controls (Wii) isn't that often, but when you do, you just wiggle the remote. On the other versions, you just wiggle the right control stick. I also hear the PC version is laggy, I'm not sure if that's because people are below the required specs, or if it's a legitimate problem. Also, the 360 is the only version that comes with a non-wireless portal, which does not need batteries. 3DS also has a USB cord, but communication with the game is infra-red.
- this post is too long, I have to pee
Don't forget to wash your hands!
- what is the overworld like? is it like the first 3 Spryo's where you travel in 6 or so different "worlds", explore those, and then select the individual level from there, or is it like you just simply pick a level like in DOTD, or is it different than those?
One area that expands as you progress. It's not as big as one of Spyro 1-3 hub worlds, but it's definitely not empty. But to replay levels, you have to go through the menu, that's a little annoying.
- I saw some people online helping villiagers move turtles. is this in any way similar to YOTD how you do the level while also doing sub-quests as well?
Most objectives are just going through the level (you do help some people along the way too). The elemental gates are optional, but there's nobody you have to help in those.
- and over all, is it good? please give a small "review" telling what you think about it.
I'm not good at writing reviews... The game is like a top-town action game, a little like Gauntler/Diablo/etc, with some block-moving puzzles along the way. Each character has two primary attacks, and a third one that you unlock later, you can upgrade your character with the money they collect, and pick one of two skill trees (not very complex or big). I really like how each character (that I've played so far) has a unique feel and playstyle instead of "attack A, attack B." I think the difficulty is just right (kind of easy, but fun easy), and the boss fights are very fresh. The writing is a little kiddy side, but pretty well fleshed out. The "toys are DLC" thing bothers some people, but I think it's actually a good idea (coming from a toy collector). They don't have any articulation and can't be removed from their base, but they're nicely detailed and come in an appealing variety of designs.
