So I've fully upgraded my Whirlwind, and decided to take the path to enhance my rainbow abilities.

Was this a bad choice on my part? The attack where you charge up a rainbow and it does the vortex thing seems largely useless since it never works for me unless I hold the button down for a good ten seconds (by which time I've been hit and it's lost its charge). Would the thunder clouds have been a better choice?

Apologies for not using specific names; I've yet to memorise the names of all of the Skylanders attacks and upgrades!

Yes, the thunders are better IMO. When you shoot it with a rainbow it shoots out 3 rainbows at once. Best thing is thunders will connect with electric line causing lots of damage. I used that ability to beat bosses.

First time I chose the thunder clouds.
For experimentals I reseted my Whirlwind and chose the rainbows. Really have to say: the clouds are better. So I reseted it again and Whirwind's strong again

I personally loved the rainbow path. The tornado can be useful if you use it strategically, like I use it in the Kaos boss fight: I can charge it up and let it go once the dots on the ground turn red (Meaning he's about to come down) so that once he gets down, his minions are caught in the tornado for awhile while you fly around back and focus on Kaos. I got the trophy for beating Kaos without switching by doing this

I did Rainbow first and found the actual usage to be lackluster. Movement speed with the rainbow of Doom is stupid slow and the usage is broken; half the time not catching things that run through it and even when it does, half the time not damaging them properly.

As others have stated, the shocking clouds work better; damaging and stunning enemies. Also, as a hint, you when you send a loud out you can hold the button down to make it travel farther; releasing the button when you want it to stop.

I personally prefer the Rainbow path.
I don't use the clouds too much, and the attack where you can charge up her rainbow is VERY powerful. It just takes a little strategy (you need to know when to charge it up so when you get to the enemies, you can release it).

Thanks for the advice, everyone; I originally chose the rainbows since they seemed the faster/more long-ranged attack path to take (as is my strategy), but it just seems lacklustre. When I've trained my other Skylanders, I will reset her, I think.

Dang it! I was planning to get Whirlwind, but there are no Targets that provide her! And no Walmarts in general! WRAHHHHHH!

I'm better with up-close-and-personal-quick-attacks, so I'm choosing the rainbow path. >:D

I enjoy the Rainbow path simply because I didn't care much for the clouds. The Rainbows sort of volley which help to take down a lot of enemies quickly. Charging breath attacks are fun too!

Tempest Dragon is just awesome. You can fly at your leisure through any level in story mode just spamming clouds, and all the enemies will kill themselves. She's the only one who can make it through the main game, easily, without directly engaging a single enemy. Gotta love the grid of electric death.

When I get her, I'll try the storm clouds first, then reset her if I don't like them.

Rainbows are pure win, choose that one.
