I most of my skylanders are long range, but I switch to stealth elf when I need short range.

I like both. Sometimes, it's better to have long range and sometimes short, depends on the situation.

Long range. It's harder to die if you're further away. Probably one of the main reasons I barely ever used Stealth Elf til I maxed her up. She's terrible unless you do.

Long range. You get less hits that way.

I find that dying isnt much of a problem in this game (especially with all the adventure pack items) so I prefer to run right in and punch them in the face!

I prefer short ranged attacks but Drobot's lasers do come in handy.

I have five characters. Long range has it's advantages. However, I found after upgrades that I cannot complete the Heroic Challenge with the purple and green chompies with the massive long range attacks. I could only do it with StealthElf. My others are Spyro, Zap, Sonic Boom, and Prism Break.
I do have to admit that using Flamslinger puts you at an advantage against the Lobster guys on the platforms. My husband did all the fighting, and stealthElf seamed to be muttering because she was not moving. |

I prefer long range, because you can still attack up close if you want to. It renders close range useless.

I like to use long-range attacks, but am certainly not averse to using short-range attacks when my characters are more powerful, or on weaker enemies. When it comes to the stronger ones though, I find I end up getting hit more often than I land a hit when I use a short-range attack!

I like using long range but I am just so much better with close combat characters
