Are the stats on the figures supposed to carry over from the 3DS game over to the console version? Specifically the Xbox 360 version? I initially bought the 3DS version and got several of my characters leveled up. I decided to buy the 360 version as well but none of the Skylanders I have are leveled up anymore. Is this supposed to happen?

I don't think so,
However somewhere *I can't remember where xD* it said that when your charactor leveled up or something like that, that you should wait a bit so that the toy can save what you had gotten.
Maybe that'll help somewhat c:

When you play on the 3DS you load your toys in. To update the stats after your gametime you should re-load the toy into your 3DS version again. I think the 3DS will save the information so you should be fine to go back and re-do it now but I find it a pain to do.

When I loaded my Skylanders from the PS3 to the 3DS for the first time, they were all the same level they had been. I haven't used them on the PS3 again since then, which was a few days ago, but I can only assume you need to reload them like Quik said so they will save their level. And they should retain said level, or it would defeat the purpose of the multiplatform selling point.

Yep, Quikwix and Ammers have it right. In order to get your 3DS progress saved back onto the toy, you need to put it back on the portal and go through the entire wendel interaction with them. Just as a tip, if you currently have that skylander loaded into one of your two slots, it will load much faster if you are playing as that character when you talk to wendel (if not, it has to switch the position of your second loaded skylander which takes a moment)

Wait, so if I have a level 10 'lander on the console and bring it to the 3DS version, what level will it be at?

It will be level 10. Levels do transfer, both ways.

The only thing noteworthy is that the moves/paths you have really don't matter in the 3DS game. So even if you're fully leveled up with something like Trigger Happy's Coin Flip thing, he won't do anything besides the Gatling gun thing in the 3DS.

It will be Level 10, but you won't have any moves on it asides from the basic couple. You would have to play and collect money to purchase them.

Let me see if I can help make the answer to this question a little clearer. The game for 3DS is simply not the same one as all the platform systems. The use of the portal is different with the 3DS also. When using the portal for the platform the communication between the figure and the game is continuous. As new levels, power, skills and money are found the character is immediately updated. This is not the case with the 3DS.

Everytime you scan a figure into the game with the portal a temporary link between the two devices is open. When you open this link between the two devices the data for at least one of these items is updated. When you scan a chacter into the 3DS for the first time nothing happens to the figure. There is no data yet for the 3DS to send to the figure. However the 3DS data gets updated with that character's information. If the character has has been previously used he will start at the level already designated on the figure. (There is a known glitch where they randomly start at level 1 when first uploaded no matter figure information/ reconnect the 3DS and figure and the 3DS will update to the figures stored level). It is important to note that the 3DS only reads the identity of the character and its current level (HP is connected to level information so this as well). All other information saved on the figure are unimportant to the 3DS. The 3DS uses a seperate system of moves unique to it and does not synch with the data from the platform games or care to store this data on the figure. If you send over a character to the 3DS for the first time at level 10 it will unlock unknowing all the moves in the 3DS game.

When you link a figure to the 3DS that already has current data in the 3DS the level information from the higher of the two systems will be saved on both systems. A level 7 figure and level 1 3DS data will yield level 7 information on both the figure and 3DS. A level 1 figure and level 7 3DS data will yield a level 7 figure and 3DS data.

Just remember once you scan the figure to the game and progress the data in game it must be resent to the figure for the level increases to take effect. Scan a new figure into the game, play him to level 10, then scan the increase to the figure. You can access only the last two scanned figures in the game to play with at any point but the 3DS will remember every character that has previously been used and save its highest level for when it is scanned again. Of note the 3DS has no distinction between two physical copies of the same figure. If you scan a Dinorang once it will update its level information to any Dinorang. Just remember the 3DS treats legendaries and dark spyro as seperate characters.

Whenever I receive a new character I scan it into the 3DS first, play him up to level 10 and then start the adventure on my WII with alevel 10 character with no money, special skills or heroic challenges. I then have fun gaining these things on the WII with a character at full HP and level.

Any other questions or if I just confused the crapm out of you just ask.

So, is it that much faster to level in the 3DS version?

It takes about 2 hours of play time to level all the way to level 10. When I started playing it took about three hours.

that's pretty quick.
I should probably try to find the 3 systems in our house since we have 3 copies of the game.
lol
