Info document - UPDATED 9/17
Reference data document - UPDATED 9/17
Beta element point-out document - *NEW*
9/17/11 big time update! It’s been a while since I did it, and when was the last time I updated it? 6/12/11? Seriously? Anyway, this is going to be big, so here it is:
- GAMEPLAY:
- Changed it’s section name from “GAMEPLAY” to “GAME MECHANICS/FEATURES”. The reason was that I read an intriguing article explaining why it’s the dumbest word in the video game world. Feel free to read it to see the point in my eyes. As a interesting consequence, I have also rewritten sentences in the whole document that have the word “gameplay” to better suit to sticking to what the article says. This also applies to the references document (with certain exceptions...).
- ”Xbox 360” - I’ve added all the achievements, which includes the image (linked), the descriptions on how to get the achievement, and the amount of points listed when you gain these things. Note that it’s flipping spoilertastic! Read it at your own risk.
- ”Nintendo 3DS” - Focus on more platforming than role-playing game mechanics, no multiplayer modes, and to make up for it - upload 2 characters into the 3DS without carrying the Portal of Power all the time.
- The section made way of splitting it’s info to two sections: “GAME CONCEPT”, and “VIDEO GAME SHOWCASING”. A new section was added, named “ONLINE/WEB/PC VERSION”!
- ”online/web/pc version” - details on Activision registering three domain names for the online/web/pc version of the game have been written. It’s not much, the websites are not open yet right now.
- Added new info! This time is about those gaming packages. Since this upcoming video game will feature a lot of toy figurines, it would be necessary to package them up. It covers the Starter Pack, 2 Character Packs, and 2 Adventure Packs. It’s likely that more will pop up in the coming months.
- ...and they’re also selling two types of containers exclusively from Toys ‘R Us. Check out the info and images!
- ...and to top it off, a Spyro keychain...exclusively only through a certain website in Europe!
- Added a new sub-section - “FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS”. It’s not much, but if the game is commercially successful, they would consider making a sequel, and have the released figures be used again.
- Yep, it’s a new section...(although it’s somewhat small right now).. Think about it, Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure wouldn’t exist with the people at Toys for Bob developing the game, and Activision (video game company owned by big time multi-industry French company Vivendi) helping them along in terms of providing financial assets. Plus, since the game is going to come out soon, it would be a good time to gather up names of people working on the game.
- This section is now a sub-section of the new “CHARACTERS” section - so it can also co-exist with the awaiting “NON-PLAYABLE CHARACTERS” section.
- All 32 (excluding recolored/special edition) playable characters have been revealed from the official website - as a result, some reorganization was needed. So poof!
- Speaking of the new info from the official website - the concept of power stats has been added - covering Gill Grunt, Spyro, and Trigger Happy.
- It appears there has been some changes in the playable characters’ attack names! For more detailed info, check out the new document; “Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure - BETA ELEMENTS”.
- Added new info on Prism Break, Stump Smash, Zap, Flameslinger, Chop Chop, Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf, Voodoo, Bash,
- Added a ton of images, replaced a few, and removed some images. Why the removing? The images I previously linked to mysteriously disappeared...darn.
- Now added videos for these following characters: Dark Spyro, Sonic Boom, Stealth Elf, Voodood, Bash, Chop Chop, Eruptor, Flameslinger, Gill Grunt, Ignitor, Prism Break, Spyro, Stump Smash, Trigger Happy, and Zap.
- Sections have been renamed! ”PREVIEWS” has been renamed as “TEXT/WRITTEN COVERAGE”, ”IMAGES” to “IMAGE COVERAGE”, and ”VIDEOS” to “VIDEO/AUDIO COVERAGE”.
- Reference add-on recordings get a bit more detailed, now it includes the code ids that hyperlinks are assigned to.
- 1 announcement link (“Yahoo” [A5])
- 9 text/written coverage links (“Nintendo Power” [B12], “EL33TONLINE” [B13][B20], “NintendoDojo” [B14], “Game Hunters” [B15], “Wizard World” [B16], “Forbes” [B17], “PocketGamer” [B18], “A+E Interactive” [B19])

I have a feeling I’m actually missing a couple of things. Anyway, I’m not sure if I can keep this thing up - I can declare that this will be my 2nd, or third last update. The final update would be around a week before the release of the video game “Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure”, or after a week; by then, it’s up to you guys to explore the game by yourselves.
