There's a Skylanders mobile game in 2018 coming that's an RPG made by one of the biggest app game devs in the world

Dunno if biggest, they made like one big game and a bunch of meh stuff.

I mean, what I'm trying to say is that they know their stuff.

As long as I don't have to pay big money to get a shiny star evolved Hex unlike some of the creatures in Summoners :U

On another subject, I don't think I've praised the new parts enough. Even with the Creator glitch when converting to the site, these parts are really good when it comes to color range and how well you can create an outfit; and the weapons fill in some palette/elemental niches that were sorely missing(Smashers and Brawlers come to mind). I just wish I had the money to get all the crystals for all the new characters I made :c

You know that the CTT Adventure pack is something they came up with well after the original release preparation. They may simply just not have taken the time to do "official" shots of the boxes like the originally planned releases and aren't going to bother with it. I still think TRU will have it on Sunday, especially since they committed to a specific date.

When Activision commits to a specific Skylanders release date, they're almost never correct.

March 12th is the only date I've seen they committed to concerning CTT, that's Sunday. They really haven't given dates for anything but the initial releases, which they have never missed.

March 10th is something from amazon.it, I believe. And from my experience when they give a date, that is the date then intend to start shipping (not release date delivery). They have been pretty accurate on that every time I've imported - all the way back to Scarlet Ninjini.

I think Tiki Temple's been delayed. I asked Activision PR about it (they gave me the original date of March 10th in Aus) and they said they didn't have any details on that pack despite giving me the details in the first place... then the next day they sent through an updated press release that just says "March" for the release date of CTT and the Wave 4 figures. Additionally, Target over here is saying the next figures they'll be selling will release March 30th.

Very confusing, I just want to buy the shiny new things

I wish I was kidding. Battlecast was exactly like this(January 2017!.....The last card preview, we mean!) and it infuriates me to this day since, as we all know, poor release schedule of both the open beta and the final game were the death of it.

@MA-Josh Press release still says at the end "and The Cursed Tiki Temple level pack will be available for $29.99 MSRP on March 12 at participating retailers nationwide."

The scattered release was really bad and not at all advertised. I just lucked out hearing about a release date over here and grabbed some packs on release day, and then it was ages after that til the US got it. But I think New Zealand got the packs months before Australia even got them They should've made a big deal of each release to build up hype for each country that had yet to get it.

They sent me a new one when Imaginators was released on Switch. Contains this paragraph but no other mention of a release date:

I think they meant it's the first content to not be planned since the release.
And I'm still not sure if it actually is; that's my guess but they could have also programmed "Imaginators 2.0" in advance because they knew V.V. would have been busy for a while.

Honestly I think that Imaginators 2.0 was planned before the game released last year if you look back at Cory's (yroc) video when he interviewed Paul he asked that we only know three adventure packs will there be more? And from Paul facial expression and the way he answered and with the tone of voice this was defiantly planned ahead of time

Paul does that face and response to everything in press releases. He's not supposed to keep your hopes down.

So I just watched a part of a video, and are you unable to use swappers when theyre swapped on the Switch? Thats literally over 100 characters that you literally cant play as. God Im hoping thats just a bug that can get fixed and not an actual problem.

wdrumz (Skylanders youtuber if you did not know) did a live video today that talks about what he has been up to these last few months. He reveals how SkyDad is a narcissistic person and how badly he treated wdrumz and other Skylanders youtubers. Later at 40:40 he talks about his partnership with Activision and his disappointment about how things turned out during Trap Team.

It might be best to discuss this drama elsewhere though.

You can swap them in-game - scanning a Swapper unlocks the top and bottom for that character but it's not clear how it works.

From what I understand, it doesn't read the top half of the figure, so nothing different will happen.

Then how do up grades work if it's only reading bottom? How it know top body upgrades?

Yes, apparently you just scan the bottom half and the Switch version assumes you own the corresponding top half. More info in this thread.

Swappers get scanned in at level 20, with no upgrades and no gold. You can upgrade both halves in the Switch version as usual, but it seems that you can't write the upgrades back to the figure.

Oh, that's the "drama"? I thought it was something like the marketing team ditching the other youtubers over him or something else that negatively impacts the fandom as a whole. Dunno if you were here at the time, but Skydad was here a few years back, and mysteriously stopped showing up once we gave some criticism and wouldn't take "well it's for kids" for an answer.
