Well, I pre-ordered that bundle pack, 'cause why the heck not.
More figures on day one! YAY! And if I decide I don't want one of them, well, eBay exists. Also, I looked at Chompy Mage's box closely - as closely as I could with an Amazon preview - and it looks to me like his catchphrase is indeed going to be "Chompy Power". I can't verify that, that's just what it looks like to me. |

I'll try to get as much info on SI as I can. The first thing I'm going to do, once inside, is get some stuff autographed by Todd McFarlane at his McFarlane Toys booth. Then I'm going to check out the time for The Miz/Maryse signing at the 2K booth. Then I'll check the Activision booth for SI.

Take your time, no need to put your enjoyment at risk for news; this also means no need to poke around where they don't want you to of course, we can stay without some secrets before the game is out. But stuff like walking near Shrines to load their Sensei list and looking at Imaginator parts shouldn't be an issue, it seems.

I dont think so. But typically preorders dont have any sort of monetary discount. They may have a bonus of some kind (like maybe a free Creation Crystal when you purchase) but not an actual discount on the price.

So, something I was never quite able to add up.
I know the Doom Raiders are all unique villains. I know the majority of the trappable villains have an enemy counterpart. I'm assuming that Tae Kwon Crow is unique while Bad Juju, Grave Clobber, Pain-Yatta, and Blaster-Tron have enemy counterparts. My question: Were there other trappable villains that didn't have enemy counterparts?

Technically Sheep Creep, I guess? There is a regular enemy version, but it only appears in the last arena challenge of the game. Same with Chomp Chest, I think. As far as I know however there's only one Tae Kwon Crow in Trap Team. |

So, Chompy Mage and Hood Sickle are timed Amazon exclusives, only available via the online bundle? Interesting.
I wonder if Halloween Chopscotch will be GameStop exclusive, and Steel Plated Hood Sickle a Best Buy exclusive. And all that's left would be what our Nitro, Target exclusive, will be - at least, they've had one at launch for the past two years. |

Tae Kwong crow
Catchphrase-who dares face me Backstory-Tae Kwon Crow was once the leader of a villainous band of air pirates in Skyhighlands. But pirating was never his true passion. All that really mattered to him was stopping anyone that “dared” to do anything that he deemed out of character. If a cake maker “dared” to make a pie instead, he would put a stop to it. If an ordinary sheep “dared” to baaahh longer than normal, he would end that nonsense right then and there. Tae Kwon Crow could not even stand it when anyone even “dared” of thinking of daring to do anything. But after he was captured by the Trap Masters, Master Eon dared him to change his ways and use his abilities for good instead. At first, Tae Kwon Crow was angry that Eon would dare make such a bold suggestion, but he soon realized that he could actually serve as a role model to young Ninjas and help them avoid the dark path that he went down. Forsaking his katana for the more traditional roundhouse fire-kick, Tae Kwon Crow now defends Skylands from whoever dares threaten it. |

Barbella
Catchphrase-it's crunch time Backstory-Barbella was the best fitness trainer in all of Skylands. Not only did she possess otherworldly strength, she was also a firm believer that a healthy diet and exercise led to true happiness. With such a positive message to spread, Barbella decided to open her own fitness center called “Flex-a-lot”, where she hoped to instill good eating and workout habits with all of her patrons. But one day, the gelatinous villain known as the Gulper destroyed her gym, and it took all of Barbella’s strength to keep it from collapsing while everyone fled to safety. It was then that Barbella realized that bad guys were more hazardous to your health than anything else, so she began to train in the ways of the Sentinel, where she quickly became one of the greatest masters in the world! |

The amazon bundle of 5 is 20% off because it is a bundle. If you have Amazon Prime you get another 20% off. It works out better than TRU since that is usually BOGO 40% off, and TRU prices are $2 more per figure. |

Heck, it's work out better even if it was just 20% off, because BOGO 40% off is a net savings of 20% per figure, and with them presumably costing $17 each at TRU, that's $34, $27.20 for two figs, after the discount, 13.60 per fig, but at 60 dollars for 5 figs, that's $12 per fig. You're paying $24 for 2 figs. But wait! What about Shipping? If you're a prime member, that's free, AND you get a 20% discount on video game merchandise that have been released for less than fourteen days! "Less than fourteen" includes negative numbers, meaning pre-release, so this qualifies! That's 48.00 for 5 figures, meaning 9.60 per figure, it's really no contest.

I have to agree, here. While names have always been more or less the same, I really wish both developers (especially Tf stopped creating such big figures when their in-game counterparts aren't nearly as huge. I feel like it could have been an order from Activision though, making bigger figures but less painted and detailed. I'm sure they could still find a way to make us pay 15$/€, without having to rely on Skylanders themselves. I still think nearly all of them look great, but when I compare the images we've got of King Pen to Thumpback or Snap Shot... Well, the difference is quite evident. This year's bases are also quite cheap but large, compared to the classic ones, but they'll probably won't bother me among the other characters. I really hope we'll come back to the roots of this series, in those terms. Everything else? Amazing.

Whoever designs VV's characters should be fired, and just use I-Wei for both! I'm afraid to touch my splat for fear of snapping off some of the paint by mistake. They couldn't use HARD, transparent plastic?

Oh yeah, the playstyle is impeccable in SC, and I hope people will be able to better enjoy them in Imaginators, but come on, the asthetic, just... Isn't as good, even if it's not bad. But I'm saying he should be fired because there's no reason to keep him if they won't use him. He certainly can't keep his CURRENT job if I-Wei takes it from him. I misspoke Perhaps he could actually work on the movesets while I-Wei works on the character design. Cause I REALLY like the movesets in Superchargers, but I REALLY like the character designs in Trap Team and Imaginators. They are both really good in both aspects, but I feel TFB does the characters better, but VV really nails movesets.

Dunno, animation wise I think you're on point. Way too much hitstun, and for every Nightfall there were Thrillipede and SSTerrafin with super awkward movement that feel like they just used default skeleton movement and didn't account for how they'd actually look.
At least what we've seen in SI gameplay wise isn't falling on easy answers. A lot of characters stretch and deform to make the animation better and have a weight to it, even if some frames look horrifying(King Pen), you won't see that until you take a selfie anyway.

Oh, the designs are fine, even great, but I guess you were talking about SuperChargers' figures when you said "poorly painted ones with cheaper plastics".
Trap Team is where I draw the line: up to it we still had small Cores along with Gimmicklanders, and both of them were detailed. Senseis are big and have beautiful poses and sculpts... But the size only make the lack of painted details even more obvious. I think it wouldn't have been that much of a problem to have a Slam Bam-sized Starcast on top of a Trap Team's Dark base, for example. I think I have to blame and thanks V.V. equally for what they did in SWAP Force: designs aside, they adopted a rather different style compared to Giants and SA's figures, by using a different plastic and relying more on metallic paints and transparent or special materials than shades and textures. But they also greately improved the concept of a Skylander's moveset, and it's clear how TfB took inspiration from their characters for Trap Team (especially the Cores). Maybe it's just me, but I have the feeling they consider big characters to be already cool and fun somehow, while they want each smaller one to be as unique and creative as possible because they are normal.

Uhh, yeah, I can only talk about Superchargers figures as I cannot speak objectively about SWAP Force as I dislike it in a way that prevents me from speaking objectively about it (I was depressed at the time of release and couldn't play it past chapter 2/3 out of boredom and discomfort at all the changes they made to the cast... Now, I have a shortage of compatible figures from that era, and don't really like most of the ones I DO have [slobber tooth is my only core])

Regarding the SuperChargers themselves, I'll wait to try them out in Imaginators before judging their movesets properly.
They all felt good but the game simply doesn't encourage me to play with them. Design-wise I am not a fan of them, mostly for the same reason why the Senseis can't be my overall favorite line-up: all humanoids or upright, all wearing similar garments and all having a common theme.

Dunno, I thought I was going to dislike a lot of the Senseis, but I've been warming up to most of them even if they're still no favorites. Something about the armor theme is varied enough unlike the racing outfits. Or maybe I just love I-Wei and Jeff Murchie's styles too much.
