I just noticed that the tentacle looking things are Nightfall's Hair. JEEZ HOW LONG IS THAT? Honestly that makes me like her SO much more

Not really sure you can say that the game "Doesn't respect the canon" now, especially since we've got some super obscure villains here, like Dreadbeard of all people.

Well, it definately respects the canon a whole lot more now. Have their characters, and have other existing characters too even if just smaller appearances, please everyone or at least as many as possible.

Well I think these villain special content stuff is for the Wii because they said the Wii had some special content.

Could be, but it could also be a yellow transparent visor obscuring someone else. The eye markings are definately the same though.

All the pictures have gotten me even more excited. But I absolutely love Nightfall and Sea Shadow!!! I am kinda excited about Wave 2 just so I can get her!! I wonder if they will release Wave 1 and 2 on the same day or if they will wait a week between waves.

Reminded me of a mix between Grave Monkey and Ancient Tree Spirit for a second, but it could to be a character from that level's regular version as scenery.

Doesn't seem like the racing version to me tho cuz those villains look like the ones seen attacking the player near the storm generator

I don't think anyone's touched on this yet: It looks like the purple energy is bursting it of the engine for Nightfall instead of the black swirls. Weird.

My theory is that maybe the traps have more uses than most thought. Maybe the traps can allow players to use the villains in races, but I'm not sure for Frightbeard, Cluck or any of the other villains who don't have any form of using them.

Could Nightfall be a black sea nettle or some other type of jellyfish? The hair is jellyfish like. Her mask is making me think she's a water breather as well and she does have a stereotyped admirals outfit on. She's interesting almost ninja-like to me, a bit mysterious like Star Strike as well.

That is exactly what I was thinking... but yeah, unless we trap Frightbeard and Cluck in this game, which wouldn't make much sense, it just seems extremely odd.

According to someone on Youtube who is speculating on Smash Hit, he believes that he is some kind of centipede or caterpillar. If this is true, it makes you wonder. Shouldn't Thrillipede be called Smash Hit and vice versa? Not to start an argument, but Smash Hit doesn't look like a big physical hitter, while Thrillipede actually looks like he can smash hard with his strong four arms.

Thrillipede is clearly an insect, and Smash Hit is too blurry to even make out. People here have speculated that he might even be a snake of some form, so he could pretty much be anything if you squint hard enough.

Has anything been released about the Wii game? Will all versions contain the same racing mode that the Wii game will have? Does the main PS4/XBO game have a separate kart racing mode(like Mario Kart)? Are we still getting the stat cards?

I feel like I still know so little yet the releases date is so close now. Well, pretty much close.

So, my theory is that the Trophies will unlock "Sets" of villains to race as, along with a couple tracks. Like, the Golden Queen Trophy will unlock villains that use boats, the sky Trophy will unlock villains who use planes, and a land Trophy will unlock villains who use cars. The Kaos Trophy would unlock all the villains like Cluck and Dreadbeard, while the other ones would just unlock villains from Trap Team.

According to one of the screenshots there can be at least 8 racers at once

I think, ladies and gentlemen, that this may be a surprise hit. The figures look nice, hopefully better paint jobs than for TT.
I agree that Nightfall might be the big hit, though I do also love Fiesta. Both of their figures, as well as vehicles, are quite interesting. Especially Fiesta, who's a party animal who says why Day of the Dead can't be celebrate in the Underworld.

So much agreement, Seriously hope SuperChargers paint jobs are much better than Trap Team!!!

Can't wait to get a better view of Wolfgang's vehicle.....and Pian-Yatta's Candy Buggy just looks bad-a$$...

Oh man am I disappointed with Nightfall. The ridiculously long hair and stubbyish legs together look really unnatural. I'm not a fan of the lilac on her coat linings either, really clashes with the oily colours around there and looks too soft and nice against the rest of the colours/design. (Might just be bad lighting, to be fair).

Excuse the shoddiness of my tracing and shading but I was actually so disappointed I decided to try and quickly trace over the lilac with silver to see if I liked it any better, so I may as well dump this here before we get actual news. I thought she could have had a pretty cool design before, but now that I've seen it... Meh. I'm just baffled that they chose that lavender for her coat lining. I suppose it's to try and make her seem more feminine, but it just looks ugly to me.

I'm still not happy with this colouring and the legs/hair still bother me. But I was really bored and made this so I figured I may as well share my thoughts on her design. ; Nightfall falls in with another 1/3 of this cast I think have good concepts for their designs but lack something.

It looks like they're only showing the characters we've seen before, Shark Tank, Stealth Stinger, Sea Shadow, and most likely Nightfall

Also now after watching it like 40 times it looks like they're also showing the racing! I'm going to guess that's what "Final Lap!" in a bad Eon impression implies

Nightfall's backstory

One day, as she was exploring a deep cavern in her submarine, the Sea Shadow, Nightfall came upon an enormous object that pulsed with a strange energy. It was gigantic, and before she could comprehend what she was looking at, it hatched! Out came a creature 100 times larger than anything she had ever seen! She fired the engines and raced back to warn her people. Just as the last citizens boarded an evacuation ship, the colossal head of the Leviathan broke the surface of the water and let out a terrible roar! Without hesitation, Nightfall rushed towards the monster, blasting it with everything she had while the others made their escape. This act of heroism caught the attention of Master Eon, and the rest is Skylander history!

This racing version is indisputably Mario Kart dressed up in a Skylanders outfit. I mean, we've even got Donkey Kong and Bowser in it.

Pretty much every racing game nowadays is inspired by Mario Kart. Also... ONLINE ADVENTURE MODE WHAT. I hope that doesn't just mean sharing high scores... but if it does the online racing looks solid!

I am definitely putting in my preorder for the dark edition. I was going to anyway, but this news is amazing. I can't wait to race as villians. However, I don't like the idea of online adventure mode as I like completing games by myself. Might be a post-game thing for me.
