This isn't worth that much.. Most factory errors are worth about $30 with the Nitro Magna Charge as well we would be looking at $60-$80 with the both of them.

I don't think you are the Skylanders Value Police. In reality it's worth what someone will pay, but I will say errors are becoming too common in this series due to quality control so I wouldn't value it beyond sticker price personally.

It looks like they haven't really painted his eyes. I wouldn't really call it worthy, since it's plain mistake. Much more different were red lips of Giants Chill, but on other hands, they looked soooooo wrong on her. I'm not a fan of chase variants, not to mention about some mistakes in painting, so overall I wouldnt rate him very high. But there are always some maniacs. You can try to sell it with Magna Charge and maybe it will get some nice price.

By the way, can you try and make a picture from the side? It's hard to see if there is any color difference from front?

This has nothing to do with them and rather the folks in China producing these and the related employees performing quality checks. Is it too much not to expect a sloppy product? It's my money...

Here's some positives:
1. Graphics in SF is great. VV extended Skylanders with some great concepts that I think should be expanded on.
2. TFB are TRUE engineers and I like the character designer I-Wei Huang. I love his passion (and all of TFB for that matter--Paul Reiche rocks).

Don't ever say I'm not positive again. smilie

However, the various board complaints about SF from others aren't being prompted by me...so maybe they should revisit how they get feedback during testing--or learn to listen to it--or expand it to include kids of all ages.

I'd just like to notice, that I've stated my opinion what would I do with poorly painted figure. So if you're going to keep it, enjoy playing with 'blind' Free Ranger! And thanks for making a side picture. It's deffinitelly a huge mistake from the producers side. They haven't even painted his eyes... That's not a bad painting, actually there's no painting.

To be honest, this is a place where I think Disney Infinity really has had some impact on perceptions of Skylanders. The figure quality in Infinity is far above Skylanders, regardless whether you like the game or not the figures in Infinity are awesome, and not just because they are Disney characters. In their haste to get as many on the shelves as possible, I've seen MANY quality issues in Swap Force on the figures - and it really stands out when you go to TRU, turn around and see the Infinity figures. And while Skylanders are cheaper, the bumping up in price makes that gap less and less.

Yeah that's why I was asking on here, they haven't even bothered to do his eyes, a very big mistake on there part. We won't be playing or opening him as I bought another one today in store from tesco. This time the free ranger had white eyes lol.

I agree with you on this one. The disney figures and far far better quality then this new batch of skylanders swapforce. BUT skylanders graphics are better and sharper and we gave the disney infinity away to one of my sons friends as he didn't like it. But I kept the jack Skelton figure!!!!!

Well, I don't know that the graphics are THAT superior, just a different style. With good art style you can make up for a ton of graphical shortcomings. World of Warcraft still looks nice despite being a good nine years old. They went with a more simplistic, "toy like" style with Infinity - you aren't playing as Sully, you are playing as a toy version of him. Skylanders has a lot of good character designs.

Infinity, well I held off for a long time, but my youngest really likes the figures for Infinity (it's Disney, yo). So, I started picking up a few of his favorites for Christmas and his grandfather is going to give him the game and playsets. He really likes swapping them out, and I think the less hectic, wandering around style of Infinity will suit him well - as well as being able to drop things into the world with his brother's help. I'm definitely not going all in, I considered it, and even has the crystal ones in the cart, but ended up putting them back - he really won't appreciate the crystal ones, he will want the ones that look like what he knows. I wish Mickey was coming out prior to Christmas, that will definitely be his favorite.

I was the same but I bought every figure and pack for him as a treat and he ended up hating it lol. That was big big money down the drain. Even had the cases for them and disc holder etc.....

Yes the crystal ones are lost on younger children but the others are great as they really do look like the disney characters. But this batch of skylanders have lots of little details off. And then with this one they have fallen well below the standards.

TBH, I feel like the quality of DI figures took a knock with Wave 2. They're still better than a lot of Skylanders figures but they aren't nearly as good as before and some are approaching the quality of Skylander toys.

Anyway, after seeing your defect, it reminded me of this one:

Mater is just caught mid-blink on that one!. Sure, even Infinity will have errors, they happen and slip through. I have noticed on the ones I bought I don't have to be nearly as picky as with Skylanders. Woody has a very complex paint job, some of those are better than others

I doubt very seriously we will get anywhere close to them all, just the ones he likes. Mostly it will be the Pixar guys, and eventually Mickey/Phineas/Agent P. I have Wreck-It Ralph pre-ordered. None of the girl figures will be bought, most likely - he a is typical boy about those things. Although I think we will do the sidekick pack with Elastigirl so they will be able to play two player in all the sets. Probably get the Cars set, because he loves that and Toy Story. I also got a couple of the TRU disk pack things with things he will like (Mike's car, Hook's ship). It isn't a minimal set, obviously - but nowhere near what we do for Skylanders.

DI toys seem easier to paint.

While Skylanders have different textures, materials, types of paint (metallic, matte, etc) and even gradients in their colors, DI toys are mostly plain colors. The toys still look really nice, but way less detailed. From what I've seen so far.

Actually, I have to be in the camp of people who isn't impressed with the Infinity figures. They've gone for a deliberately simplistic style, and the paint jobs on them, if you look closely, aren't great. I know that Skylanders aren't always brilliant, but usually if you hunt through the stock you can find at least one with a halfway decent paint job, and they're far more detailed than Infinity figures.
