Not sure I trust these bundles anymore..look what happened to Gnarly Tree Rex. However that would be nice to have as I'm looking to get a Wii U.

Also that could be the same look as the Gill Grunt, but guess time will tell.

ITA. I will not be buying a whole system again, to be resold on eBay, just to get a single figure. If it is sold as a single, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I'll do without.

Yeah Gnarly Tree Rex has been the most common Skylander in every store I'd gone to from August straight through to the release of Swap Force. I'll wait for the single that'll definitely come.

This is not like Gnarly Tree Rex though, b/c Gnarly shows up in game and has a specific card/sticker. This will probably just show up as normal Wash Buckler with "Special" tag.

Well if it's not an in-game variant then even better as I don't care about those ones.

I don't know if we will see a single of this one. After all, it isn't an in game variant, at least from all the data mining/3DS version. It's similar to Emerald Gil Grunt in the 360 bundle. At least it seems they are learning, in game variants in console bundles stink. Between Royal Double Trouble and Gnarly (which for all accounts was exclusive to the Wii bundle, I don't think a single was planned until very late) last year was a pain.

If this is true, it's the 8 GB Wii U if you look close enough. They don't even sell it as a stand-alone system anymore. It's hardly worth the money but it's a great way for Nintendo to get rid of their existing stock of their 8GB systems.

Welp...That's kind of what I was looking for with a Wii U skylanders bundle for the little one...However, I'm not big into the stone variant deal so I won't even consider it...I just want plain ol' Wash Buckler...Good sign that there will be a regular one available at other stores, though. If not, that's a pretty good deal on a starter pack at 50 bucks...Guess we'll find out. Amazed that this leaked so early...

The Giants starter pack was $38 on Black Friday at Walmart last year. They might have a similar deal this year.

It wouldn't be so bad if it was the black WiiU, you could sell it and recoup some of the costs. I was personally planning to get it for WiiU at some point anyway (despite having it for other systems already). It is darn near impossible to sell a white WiiU system, as I tried to upgrade to the Zelda version. This might be a lot trickier then the Gnarly Wii bundle, people were still buying Wii systems surprisingly and you could always swap Gnarly with regular Tree Rex at that point too. I think I may just resort to buying just the figure on eBay, rather then the frustration of trying to sell off the parts not needed.

Still think the Legend of Zelda Windwalker deal is much better. Sure it includes SWAP Force and a special, but the 8gb version? Nope. I've already seen more than a few games I want to DL as soon as time/money allows.

Isn't there memory expansion available? I know we have some memory cards for the wii.

Yes you can just hook up an external usb hard drive. I just don't like dangley bits on my consoles if I can avoid.

I think maybe I get obsessed with not having to upgrade my memory, and I really like the Zelda game. Hell I'm even tempted by the Zelda special edition 3ds which is a console my family has given up on.

If there were a bundle with the PS3 once the PS4 comes out, I'd probably get it.

This is what you call a "variant" does nothing to the game at all, besides being a regular Wash Buckler.

I bought the Zelda Wind Waker Wii U Bundle, but it is still unopened for another month, so I was tempted to return it and my Wii U starter set and buy this, even though it is the 8GB console, but then they just announced the Mario & Luigi Wii U bundle and it includes the 32GB console, as it should, so I think I'll exchange for it instead.

That Swash Buckler is very cool looking, though. If it was the deluxe package with the 32 GB version, it would be an easier choice.

The holiday shopping season bring so many difficult decisions!

Doubtful. There is a difference between this figure and Gnarly, it is not an in game variant. I'd say that if you were looking for a precedent, look to the XBox360 bundle that had the clear green Gil Grunt (which never came out separately).

I agree. I'd go so far as to say absolutely not. I'm not chasing this stuff, and it feels so liberating.

I wonder if this exact bundle will make it to Australia with or without the variant . I've been meaning to get a white Wii U Premium Pack for a while now, and getting a white Basic bundled with a Swap Force starter and Nintendo Land might just make me change my mind.

To be honest, though, I'd prefer the standard .

Good to hear - if only it was the deluxe model...

I am not undecided whether to keep the console or not - could always upgrade the existing Wii but would not buy many games for it (probably just Lego City). Hence, the 8GB model would probably suffice (but the deluxe has better charging options?)

Or I can just try to flog the WiiU for what I can get for it to partially recoup.

Not worth the price. If you are really considering a different Wash Buckler get Dark Wash Buckler.

This is something I'd definitely like to own. For the price of a Wii U Basic you get the console and GamePad, plus two bonus games, as well as the special version of . It's excellent value for sure!

I went to EB Games and asked this arvie and the dude rang head office. They are aware of it but have no orders in place. Given that they normally plan/order significantly in advance, they perceive that it will not be at EB and will most likely be an exclusive somewhere else like JB or Big W.

I am hoping for Big W like the PS3 bundle last year. Big W will have a better price than the alternatives. Target also had that PS3 bundle last year but are more likely to have a higher price.

I just bought the wii u zelda wind waker deluxe edition. This bundle is kind of lame for the fact that its not the deluxe edition. But the figure is awesome. I'm still super mad about gnarly tree rex though. So I dont know how to feel yet.

I do hope it will come in ps 3 bundle like gnarly in giants... I want to get ps 3 on my own instead of playing my friend's ps 3..

..It won't be called that. It's just gonna be called "Exclusive" Wash Buckler by Activision, and "Color Shift" Wash Buckler by us.

Nintendo Australia's press release mentions it as being the "Exclusive Colour Shift ". Given that there's no such variant in the game's programming, it would make ECSWB (isn't that a cool acronym? ) my first chase variant.

I'm not sure how that would work as it would require the programing in the game to register Wash Buckler to do that. From the last I heard only Enchanted characters can do that.

@WickedRogue: I doubt he actually changes colour in the game. He'd probably just appear as a regular , like how Glow-in-the-Dark appears the same as normal in-game.
