Sorry I tried looking through the forums for specifics but I couldnt find answers to these two questions:

1) When will Wave 2 officially hit? I know right now they are dropping at toysrus (exclusive early release rights i think per the customer rep i talked too at the store) i live in a high scalper area and my son and I cant seem to get there fast enough when they put product out. I know the wave isnt toysrus exlcusive as Gamestop has them on their site (not purchasable yet) so I was wondering when is Wave 2 officially out in all stores???

2) Did anyone have problems using the ten dollar off coupon from lays for the starter pack? Target and gamestop would not accept mine. Whent they ring up the coupon it doesnt show a discount it wants a product price and when they put the price in it adds onto the starter pack (example: starteri s 74.99 and when they ring up the coupon it goes up to 84.99). They said its a "bad" coupon and they cant accept. I just paid full price but i was curioous if anyone else had that problem?

For the first; Some stores, like Best Buy and Target, have it already. GameStop also should have it, but just the regular characters, no Swap characters.
If you have trouble finding it; it's gonna be out in higher quantities on November 1st.

Second; GameStops were specifically told to accept them. Tell them to look up an email in their system. I dunno about Target, but they shouldn't have given any problems.

There are supposed to be double packs for wave 2 swappers right? Is that in the US or not?

Both toys r us and gamestop took my frito lay coupons on launch day. At gamestop they had to enter the coupon manually because it wouldn't scan for some reason. There was a corporate email they had printed out that tells them its ok to accept it.

As of now? No.
November 1st is the "official" release date for the 2nd Wave.

my gamestop had no idea how to do the cuopon. i told him about the email and when he found it it had step by step instructions on how to enter it.

#2. The coupon expieres soon, so be aware, as well as the people at gamestop ended up paying me some money due to me overpaying doing to taxes. I had no trouble at all.

1. I feel for you about the scalpers we had alot of problems here in MD, so as I had a "relationship" with most of the Game Stop employes (due to being buy way to many games) I asked when to call about there shipments and just called every day when waves where due out. I know that our nearby Toys r us used to kinda of help the scalpers till a fight that ended in injury to employees, and police changed the policy.

Target I just called and I always ask them to check the back, Let them know about the scalpers my local one had to fire a guy who hid the new ones to only sell them to a few customers for a "tip"

Some stores have a 2 of the same skylander limit now.

Also I bookmarted the links on amazon, toys r us, gamestop, ext... on the PC & my phone and checked it often. I was able to LC popfizz from amazons for regular price, I dont do the market place scalpers.


2. I had the problem @ Target but the guy got an manager and overroad it. Gamestop had an email printed & taped to the register to scan for the discount.

I had an issue at Target picking up my starter packs but that was more the combo of the free Hex and the Frito coupon, one was cancelling the other one out. I had them try to run it through few different ways and eventually it took but it was like a deer in headlights when it wouldn't go.

1) I live in a high scalper area as well. I don't have that "need it right now" attitude, so can wait another 10 days before the wave 2 figures are available widespread. I laugh at the scalpers since they have maybe a week or so to profit off this early wave 2 release. I don't see what the rush is to get mainstream figures right away. I don't think it teaches kids the right thing. Now if it was a limited store exclusive that we'd have the fear of it selling out like Enchanted Hoot Loop, Nitro Magna Charge, or the legendaries, I'd understand being a bit impatient and also being pissed off at scalpers. Now that I think about it, I may wait another month for the good Thanksgiving/Black Friday sales before purchasing wave 2...the figures are expensive as it is even with the TRU 20% off coupons.

2) Stores should all be taking the $10 coupon. I'd escalate it to a manager if some dufus at the register can't get it to work. I was able to use mine at Gamestop for the Dark Edition and even gave the manager a heads up that I'd be using the coupon a few days before release so that he'd have time to research and look up the email which corporate sent out. I think there are multiple $10 coupons out there and some may have issues. The one I used was the card with 3 barcodes found inside of the Frito Lays sidekick bags. I also got a weird coupon on another sidekick bag, but it was printed on the actual bag with only 2 total barcodes...didn't try using this one, but I can see how it may create an issue. I think I heard about the Fright Rider bags and one other type of Frito Lays bag which also offered a $10 coupon, but not sure what those coupons look like.

On launch day we used the $10 off coupon at Walmart for the Xbox 360 Starter, at Target for the 3DS Starter, and at GameStop for the Wii U Dark Edition. The one we used at Walmart was the kind that was on the plastic bag of the Frito Lay Value Pack.

Wave 2 Core figures at GameStop now. No swappables at my Gamestop yet.

In most cases, I check the sites (walmart, target, gamestop, etc) to see if they have certain figures in stock. Sometimes they are limited to online only then releasted to the physical store. Just check back every other day or week to see when released to the store. Most of the time Amazon will post release dates.

I used my coupon at Best Buy and they just put in an override and I was good.

I had to get a manager to accept my coupons at Target because their system had a problem giving a discount on both the free Hex and the game. The way it was programmed into their system, it counted the Hex promotion as a coupon and it didn't accept both at once. Very annoying.

Strange. Maybe it was because I had the "pre-order" cards in hand, but my local Target had no issues with the starter-pack pre-order, free Hex and Frito-Lay coupon all on the same transaction. I even was purchasing *two* starter packs with two Hex's and two FL coupons on the same transaction and had no issue. But I did have those pre-order cards and the cashier scanned those *first* thing before anything else so that might have smoothed things out in their computer system in my case?

I'm thinking it's more to do with your Target probably having an actual knowledgable employee at the register than anything, Videoman. The quality of employee varies greatly. At my Target the guy stocking and selling the Skylanders was clueless about everything to do with the product and even commented to me that he didn't think anyone else was going to be buying them.

used 2 10 dollar off coupons, 1 at toys r us on the 3ds starter pack, and 1 at gamestop for the dark edition ps3. both places took the coupon with no question.

Like most other waves over the last two years, its availability varies from region to region, and they often end up showing up in force further south before they make their presence known up north.

Up in the northwestern Mass / lower New York end of the world, there doesn't seem to be a Wave 2 "Swaplander" to be found anywhere. (Either that, or they came out in extremely limited quantities and I was out of position.) Gamestop seems to be the only place that received the "normal" Wave 2 figures, so I picked up seven of the eight of the small guys (and could have picked up Heavy Duty Sprocket on two separate occasions if I'd motivated to do so).

Toys 'R Us, surprisingly, doesn't have ANY of them yet. Doesn't help that I live next to an "express" TRU that still doesn't carry a SINGLE Swap Force figure despite the game being out for over a week - I think it might be used as a 'dumping ground' for the Spyro's Adventure figures to clear space for other stores. And when I drove up to New York yesterday, they were stocked to the rafters of Wave 1 figures but didn't have even one of the twelve figures from Wave 2. Toys R Us, Target, Best Buy, nothing. Only Gamestop, and only the small guys.

tell your gamestop person they have to manually remove the 10$ and keep the coupon. Thats what we did at the game stop i work for.

I found Wave 2 at Best Buy. I got there just as they were putting out a box this morning. I was only after the swappers (not the regular skylanders yet). A nice employee gave them right out of the box before putting them onto pegs. Son doesn't know yet so I'll probably just save them for Christmas.

As for the coupon is it too late to go back and get the discount if I've already bought the starter pack? I'm thinking it may be?

It would depend on the store you purchased it from. Ask if you can "return" the starter pack and "re-buy" it using the coupon. It will really depend on who you talk to.

Awesome find! It's so nice when one meets a kind/good/helpful employee at the "big box" stores. Those will make a fantastic Christmas gift for any young Skylanders fan.

As for the coupon, the major retailers are all required to accept the coupon from the Frito-Lay bags. There was concern about GameStop possibly rejecting the coupon, but most people had success with it on release day, although some folks had to press the employee/manager a bit. The big department stores (Target, etc.) all should scan the coupon and accept it without any problems. If I was you, I would buy another starter pack, using the coupon, then return it using your original/first receipt (the full price one).

I'd bring the game back and ask for them to honor it or go to another store then the one you got it at (like if you bought it at target go to a different target) Explain that it should have came off and let them adjust it.

Sorry one more question: how do people find out the release dates for the waves?

Either through "leaks" from a few reputable employees at the major toy/game retail stores, or through "hot toy alerts" and advance viewing of upcoming weekly ads/circulars from the major retail toy/game stores.
A lot of the time, we don't know about a release until 48 hours (or less) before the new items hit the shelves in retail stores. Best bet to be "in the know" is to stay tuned to these forums.
