Will S2 figures/Giants work with the swap force portal? I dont want to reinvest in it all again =)

Yes, all previous figures will work in the new game. That's the Skylanders Game Claim To Fame.

Activision has stated numerous times that they want all the toys to work moving forward.

The only exception to this in Swap Force are the SSA Adventure Packs with the location items---they will not bring up the levels that were available in SSA and SG.

Can the Swap Force figures work in the older games; for example, will the Swap Force Dark Spyro work with Spyro's Adventure or Giants?

Yes, i remember seeing a trailer for Dark spyro 3 and it had SSA and Giants checked. also, i'm wondering if the Swap force portal works in giants and SSA.

Its in several advertisements that---all---skylanders figures will work in swap force.

Yes....all Swap Force Skylanders that are in the older game system(programing) will work in SSA and SG...ex: Mega Ram Spyro, Super Gulp Pop Fizz, Dark Ninja Stealth Elf, Blizzard Chill, Volcanic Lava Barf Eruptor and so on an so forth....you get the idea

P.S. They won't look like they do in Swap Force.......Swap Force Image/Name didn't exist when the first 2 games where programed...in other words Volcanic Lava Barf Eruptor won't be black...he will look like standard Eruptor.

And to complete this line of thought...those that AREN'T in the older games (All of the new cores and swa'p-landers) will not work.

It's real easy, actually. If the mug of the guy you are playing is in the roster for the previous game, you're good to go. This goes the same for lightcores.
