Quote: UncleBobOh, it's true and they
admitted to it. I agree, the whole situation was rotten, but I don't see why one would think there was any recourse for legal action. What, they sold a *new* game as "used"? There's nothing illegal about that.
I got the impression from the comment (Sunny Castanets) below that they do this so they don't have to report to the Maker of the Game and as Sunny Castanets said "Reap all the Profit". If this is incorrect then Sunny should reword that part. It makes it sound like GS is required to give some of the profit to the Maker of the Game when they sell a New game but do not have to if they sell a used game.
I just don't understand the logic to sell as used if they are truly NEW, unless there is some $$$ involved where GS can get more profit if doing this and that would be a crime. Falsify what you sell so you don't have to share the profit.
Sunny Castanets Comment:
Gamestop recently got another shipment of the game. Instead of putting it out on the shelves as new games (thus only being able to charge the $50/$60/whatever recommended retail price and only getting a cut of that money), they opened all of the brand new games and put them out as "Used" games so they could charge $90
and reap all the profits themselves.
