Honestly GM, you need to do some more research on Disney Infinity. Every single playable character has his or her own challenges, feats and quests which can only be completed in Toy Box mode. They can also gain experience points in Toy Box mode.

By the way, for those of you who do plan on buying Disney Infinity or you want to learn more, I highly recommend Disney Infinity Fans.

Personally, as a major Disney fanatic, I'm getting Infinity, I like Skylanders, but Infinity looks like the better game.

Another thing I am hating about Swap Force, is you have to buy blind packs to get all aspects of Toy Box complete (items). Ten discs are TRU exclusive, so plan on those being heavily scalped, plus you never know how many doubles, triples, or more you will get before you get all 10.

Not everyone "needs" to get one (or in some cases 16) of everything in order to enjoy a game. It seems many on here desperately want DI to fail.

They are two vastly different games, my kids want both DI and SSF. To be honest if you really want to compare something between the two, I'll bet my kids play DI WAY more than SSF. Why? Because DI actually offers many reasons to keep playing the game after you beat the game (DI starter is 3 play sets which can be beaten). DI will keep offering more playsets , which will add more content to the game and the toy box can be taken as far as the users imagination. Kids will be able to play online in their friends toy boxes. I cannot imagine how cool the game will be when they integrate Marvel and Star Wars.

Competition is ALWAYS good for the consumer, but most of these posts have relegated the debate to an almost religious level. I don't see why you cannot like both games, I see great ideas in both, is that blasphemy?

As a parent, all I can say about kids is that they don't have to pay bills. They go to school, come home, do any chores (if any given parent gives them any), do some minor homework, and then they can proceed to play the game.

While I am buying Infinity, I can ONLY play the playsets, which will offer me 10 hours of gameplay each.

Again, I refuse to spend hours playing a mode that gets me nowhere in life. It doesn't help me completely level up anyone ala Skylanders. It allows me to make worlds for others to enjoy, while I get nothing for it. If I am going to waste hours of my life gaming, I am going to do something that fulfills some kind of achievement that doesn't benefit others.

In other words, maxing out every Skylander and doing all 9 quests is more of an achievement than building levels.

It's all in the eye of the beholder, sure, but I am not one to waste my life so others can enjooy the fruits of my labor, but those fruits didn't bring the bucks. That's where my career comes in. I am in the process of writing a trilogy of films. I am creating unique worlds, geography, lifestyles, etc, and it could leads to hundreds of millions of dollars and my work could be immortalized forever (like some of the films of yesteryear that kids today even know about). If I did the same thing in Infinity, I might be bestowed the honor *rolls eyes* of having Disney upload my world to a server where players across every platform can download and enjoy.

I am an adult. Other adults might not care what precious time they waste in this world, but we can't beat the clock. We have to live day by day, pay the bills, and are responsible for either teaching our kids that sitting in front of the TV more often than seeing the world is more important, or teaching them there is a life to be made outside of the house, and a planet ripe for exploring after they make a life for themselves.

Kids, on the other hand, can just come home without a worry in the world, and build on their Minecrafts, Little Big Planets, and Infinity all they want. Their parents take care of them.

I guess what I'm saying is, Infinity only offers this limitless potential with Toy Box mode, if you have hours of your life to waste. Creating a world, using tools millionaires gave us at the expense of our 75 bucks is less productive that creating something, starting a career out of it, and turning that into money in order to pay bills, see the world, put food on the table, and whatnot.

10, 10 hour Playsets, still doesn't offer what it would take to truly master Skylanders. Mastering in the sense of completing 45-50 Heroics for 99 Skylanders, completing 9 quests for 99 Skylanders, 3 starring both games, completing all 21 Battle Arenas, and collecting all 80 Skystones in Giants.

My only enjoyment from Infinity will be the 10 hour playsets. That's all my opinion, anyway. Kids and adults live two different lifestyles.

I also don't like the fact that they're sellign 14 dollar figures that do less than those that can play in playsets. One-trick ponies for the same price as figures that can be used in all aspects of the game? It just doesn't seem right.

But here's what I don't get (disclaimer: not saying there's anything wrong just puzzled) Is it possible you could make something in the Toy Box you could enjoy yourself? The toy box mode seems like a great use of time not waste of time. The customizable minigames alone warrant the price of admission. Once you complete Swap Force the first time around it's basically a rehash of the same content over and over again. I would be surprised it Swap Force has 8-12 hours on content in total. At 10 hours per level that's 50 hours of NEW content with the playsets for Infinity at launch that will be available before the rehash starts.

I do agree with you on the price tag but they are Disney Licensed products...that usually means $$$. My biggest point of contention is $5-$6 for only 2 power discs...that's just total crap. I will totally geek out with the Tron extras if and when I can get them. I mean come on I will be able to use a Tron Light runner on a Sugar Rush track to race with....I do wish Tron himself was available along with a light cycle. Plus we all know that Marvel and Star Wars are an eventuality so that will be the end of my free time. I do also agree with you that it will be awkward having characters without a world/playset. There should be playsets for all the figs. Nightmare, Frozen, Tangled and Fantasia should have their own playsets...Fantasia would be amazing. Time will tell how these two titles will do. I personally think both will succeed.

Here's a logical reason to dislike Infinity over Skylanders.

When has Disney Interactive ever made a good game, er published?

Toy Story 3.

One can't say Kingdom Hearts, because last I checked, Tetsuya Nomura wasn't employeed by the "House of Mouse."

One CAN'T say Kingdom Hearts because it's not a good game.

As for my opinion, until Infinity gets some more interesting characters, it has no interest to me - even less so with the blind bag tokens affecting both the main game AND the toybox mode.

Skylanders is still going a bit stale but they have some great character designs and you can at least use all of the characters in the entirety of the game.

Excuse you?

Kingdom Hearts is agreat game. CoM isn't that great, but hey...

Anyway, it is a Square Enix game. Disney Interactive has their name on it and may have helped a little, but at its core, the game is a Square Enix game.

I really like Skylanders but i think they need to stop increasing the price and stuff. much Skylander fans says Infinity is a Skylander ripoff but it was actually U.B. Funkeys who started all this and serously... they are losing their inspiration i mean another fire knight? we allready had Ignitor and i can go on and on... and Infinity has characters that everyone loves and it isnt that expensive (at least were i live) and come on... look at the toy box mode kids love to create their own worlds and Skylanders is a short game and let us be honest what do we do after we finished the short skylander games? upgrading or skylanders and buy more and more (at least were i live) so i kinda hope Infinity will own Skylanders and that they OR lower the price OR stop so Spyro can get his own series back instead of using the little purple dragon as background character(let us be honest its more about flynn and stuff then the Skylanders) in a overpriced game... sorry everyone this is just how i think about Skylanders at the moment... but i'm not a hater i'm still a Skylander fan just losing my interests.
