What sould the gimmick for the next game be? Racing (don't shoot!)? PVP? Skylanders: Dragons? Something centered on online play?

Whatever it is, I'd like them to revisit the Elder Elementals mentioned in Spyro's Adventure and do something with that, and also take the Skylanders into space, either as the main gimmick or as the setting or even just a level would be nice.

The Elder Elementals were the Giants.

Is that official Aura? I know the Giants light up but was it said that they are the elder elementals.

Yea Im 99% sure they intended Giants to be the elders. It just seems kind of obvious to me. And also forget 4. Im still trying to catch up on 2 games being out while preparing for the third lol. My wallet cant handle all of this

most of that we did see in sg will be online. but i guess they will also add some new stuff..

a lobby/hub mode for people to meet and even create your own world/level thing can be possible, since they are competing with disney's infinity....

Hm, I don't get hugely familiar with the story and details of any of the Skylanders games; as far as i'm concerned it's 'Kaos is doing evil, go stop him with a collection of interchangable monsters', and I do. So yeah, I did not recall the specifics of Giants.

an idea is that the skylanders now have the ability to talk with certain button presses.

^ On demand taunt would be awesome...kinda like some of the behavioral actions in Universe. And have it increase damage if you pull off an attack immediately after that.

I was talking to my brother and a racing gimmick might work. They could release 'speed characters' and carts/other speed increasing items to be used like magic items by the regular skylanders, and while all the levels didn't have to be nothing but racing, but the bosses would work like that, and there could also be areas where you need to use a speed-lander or a speed upgrade to perform a task. Racing could also be the/a main method to obtaining power/experience, something like heroic challenges.

A Smash Bros. type free-for-all battle were you DON'T need two players?

Just register a Skylander and the AI will be said Skylander, ala the dark versions Kaos used

Weapon slots! Different weapons which can be equipped by putting them in the figure's hand/paw/tendril!

Spyro's Adventure had Skylanders. different creatures in 8 groups
Giants added a giant to each of the 8 groups
Swap Force adds 2 "swappable" characters to each group

Skylanders4 will presumably add another new type of Skylander. This type has to be something that can be applied across all 8 elements and has some feature that makes the figure different from a regular Skylander. My first pick would be "dragons" but of course, each group already has a dragon (or 2). "Royalty" could be something, but what makes a "royal" fig different from a regular one?

Transforming figures would be a significant difference although not sure how that would work in game - perhaps a character that has 2 (or more) different in game representations depending on how the toy is configured. This could also involve multiple weapons available per character so that their attack in game depends on what the toy is holding while on the portal. Were I a gambling woman, this idea is where I would put my money right now.

Twins has been mentioned but is perhaps too similar to the Swap idea to be used right away. (no need to explain to me how it's totally different. I get it, but the idea of 2 different characters joining to create a new power is just too close to swapping to be used. deal with it)

going opposite of Giants with Minis or Micros seems like a logical idea but doesn't make for a great toy nor for great marketing so I wouldn't expect to see anything like this.

Mounts could be an interesting idea - separate characters that other characters could ride (similar to Fright Rider, but if Fright was a stand alone character and any other character could use him as a mount). again, perhaps too similar to the Swappers though.

i think your brother are gonna love disneys infinity.. it got races and much more, like online game play etc..

No he hates it and Skylanders just for a rip off marketing system the two games use.

Shape shifting toys would be pretty sweet. Skyformers anyone?!
As for mounts that could be applied to a racing game; all the tools/Speedlanders wouldn't have to be cars. There could be flying, mounted or running speedlanders, as well as wing, jet pack, mounts and rocket boot upgrades for the normal toys.

Like I said back when Skylanders nano force was a prospect domain name, after Giants it just seems like such a wimpy, lazy idea. So I don't see it being used, at least not so soon.

Ok so this is crazy but I think that all the skylanders from sea and sg were turned into robots and you could get a new skylander and put it inside that skylander to pilot it

How about a series of crossed characters? No, not like the Swap Force. We would have all the characters from the older games, and a couple more. Basically, there is a new portal, splitted in half. If you put one Skylander on each half, then you can play multiplayer with your friend... BUT, if you put two Skylanders on the same half..., they got combined. For example, if you put Wham Shell and Fright Rider, you obtain Fright Shell, wich is no more a Water or Undead Skylander, but belongs to the "Drowned" (Water+Undead). I imagined him to be like a skeletail version of Wham Shell, dressed like Rider, and riding and undead seahorse, welding a weapon that is a cross between a spear, and a nailed mace. Obviously, there are MUCH more combinations, aven with Swapped characters, and Giants, wich would lead to a lot of different elements, like Obsidian (Water+Fire), Steam (Air+Fire), Lava (Earth+Fire), Arkeyan (Magic+Tech), and so on. Also, this would mean you would have a whole new set of characters, without even buying a single new one. And the old ones would normally work too.
I would call the game "Skylanders Elemelts".

thats reely nice and all, but isnt that too complicated for children ...its still a kids game

Well, I think it's just a little more complicated than the Swap Force concept. Maybe I explained it wrong. Making new elements only contribute to the aesthetic, and also to the powers, of the character. That means a Cyborg Skylander (Tech+Life), would be half robot, and half creature, and that his attacks would be based on both elements (like wrapping the enemies with electrified vines). And that's it. I don't see it that hard to understand, but if you say so... Thanks for your feedback!

Skylanders Kaos Alliance-With a greater threat looming to destroy ALL of Skylands all of Kaos' belongings are destroyed, the threat (what ever it is) is soon going to destroy the Wilikins and Kaos can't stop that from happening nor can the Skylanders, so they team up. Kaos has 16 bad serve at that become Skylanders. They are called Kaotic Skyanders. There powers would be a different style from their normal counterparts. There would also be, 16 new normal Skylanders,4 S4 Skylanders, 4 S3 Skylanders, and 8 S2 Skylanders, finally finishing up with 8 Light Core, 4 from SKA,2 from SSF, and 2 from SG.
