it appeard in skylanders: the beginning. so it was either cancelled or pushed back.
I was hoping it would show up in Giants, but it didn't. maybe swap force? I want it to come out, it is so freak'n awesome!!!!

Chinese/Sun dragon is shown on 1:05 behind and 1:26 behind .
I thought it would show up in Giants, considering they went so far with him to the point where he was on the trailer.

There have been topics about this scrapped character design for a while. Sun Dragon is the scrapped character design of Camo. The reason Sun Dragon appeared in The Beginning trailer was because changes in Camo's design was made late during the trailer's production.

So, no, Sun Dragon will not be in any future Skylander game since his successor, Camo, is his final design form.

I presume you don't mean it needs a band-aid. There's a small chance it'll get recycled, but doubtful

There were many character designs that were scrapped, such as Cyclops Snail (the earlier version of Zap) and Bomb Troll (the earlier version of Boomer). All characters go through design phases during development, the old designs would be scrapped completely, or used for a different purpose in a later time.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high by the possible idea of Sun Dragon being a playable character, since he was the early form of Camo, but time will tell.

Yes, yes, both Camo and Sun Dragon appeard in the trailer, but you may have to understand that Sun Dragon was scrapped, and will most likely will not appear in any future Skylander games due to Camo being his successor.

You have to understand that characters go through phrases during game development, some designs others like are scrapped to make way for new designs that would become the final version.

No I don't have proof, but the lack of Sun Dragon in previous games would prove otherwise.

This isn't something to fight about. I just thought it was wierd. I am hoping they decided to delay it debut, but I know that isn't likely. Let's just converse about the possibility or impossibility and not start a fight. I hate it when people fight. and I do understand what Aura24 was talking about. he/she makes a good point. the sun dragon might be to closely related to camo to be released.

There is a past history of using scrapped skylanders in another format in the game (the wizard and Flavius). However, it has been several years here so it is likely SunDragon has been forgotten and will not be seen again in game. It is possible a developer may bring him in another version but the longer we go without this happening the more doubt I have.

Some where I remember a dev said it was early camo.

Well, his sniper could be made rather kid-friendly with minimal effort. His projectiles could look like Nerf darts, or energy beams. I mean, even Trigger Happy has two handguns and a turret, but it was made "harmless" because it fires coins and energy blasts.

Not exactly. A user hacked into the game of Giants and thought it would be a "good idea" to show off some scrapped characters while showing off the hacked version of Eye Brawl (when he wasn't out yet). Activision saw the video of the hacked content and had it taken down.

We do know it was SCRAPED GET OVER IT!

I hope the sun dragon gets in this game. I also wouldnt mind seeing the sniper-troll.

I liked the fact that he seemed to play just like an Arkeyan sniper, he makes a bush appear above him and it gives you the laser beam to aim with.

Most likely, it was probably down to "Sun Dragon" and Camo for the dragons of each element that they had going with SA. They chose Camo.
With Giants, a new dragon was introduced for Earth so "Sun dragon" could make a return later down the line.

Or The developers though he just wasn't good enough/working satisfactorily for the game. It could happen.

I remember when everyone was spazzing out over the Sun Dragon a couple of years ago...
but yeah, I really doubt that he would come out in future games.

yeah, sorry, they have moved on. As for showing up in the trailer along with Camo, they probably just had a 3D wireframe already done and used it to fill up space when they needed masses of characters running around. Sorta like how the original SFX guys used a tennis shoe as part of the Rebel Fleet in the assault on the second Death Star in RotJ

Sun Dragon IS the early design of Camo, ninja. Sun Dragon was added in the trailer before Camo's design was changed to his current one. They left Sun Dragon in the trailer, but added in Camo as well.

To make a point here, Cyclopes Slime became Zap and Sun Dragon became Camo. Prototypes almost never come to be and usually turn into something else. Sun Dragon is one of those unused prototypes and will never be used in ANY Skylanders game.

Aww c'mon guys, it's possible they may recycle him or bring him in for fans sake or ecause they felt like he could fit in. It may be a really small chance, but it's not permanently ditched.

Also, remember Cryclops Slime (later Tarclops or something?), Fire Dragon, Bomb Troll and how Whirlwind was originally called Stormee? (And Terrafin as Finn or something) I could go on, I love this kinda stuff.

It's like how Banjo Kazooie's original enemy appeared in the sequel; Banjo Tooie. He was a scrapped character and came into the games eventually.

there was also already an earth dragon, but hat didnt stop them from making so i wouldnt think its impossible. i highly doubt it but you never know
