I have not found anything related to that on this forum yet.
I saw a video with a review of the game presentation in German, where they tell about a new feature allowing you to change the facial expressions of the Skylanders.

Sounds really cool!

What they say in the videos is, you can choose facial expressions for all the Skylanders.
I don't know if this will include old one.
I think it is interesting, that this was not shown in the US event...

Not to doubt you understanding of the german language ( because can't speak it to save my life) but are you sure this is true?

And by " all" do you mean just series 3, the swaplanders, or every single skylander up to series 1?

Or maybe they simply misunderstood the idea of the swapping mechanic?

Finally, assuming this is all true, is this in game or on the actual figure?

I don't mean to insult you by the way, after all I've been in active in this forum for less than 24 hours.

So i don't know much about you, other that you like Pop Fizz.

They do say you use the left cross to switch the facial expression.
They did not specify on which characters exactly.
And I do not feel offended at all.
This is not my information, I just wanted to share what is said in the video, since a lot of you probably do not speak German.
What they are saying seemed to be right in the rest of the video, so I don't know.
Would be a nice feature I think.
At about 5:19 they explain that it was shown with countdown that you change the facial expression with the left stick, after they already explain swap force.
I was not at the event, but it was in Germany, so they might have shown something different.
And since I did not find it anywhere, I thought I'd share.

They are reporters from an "official" company website. so I wouldn't be too quick on judgement.
And they got everything else right, from the detail one the swap gates to the two elemental zones, which can be opended by two skylanders in coop or a swap character with both elements.

Maybe it's a simple in-game emote system, kinda like the ones in LittleBigPlanet, or Animal Crossing?

It could easily be mapped to the D-Pad since the left analog stick/circle pad/nunchuk stick are used to move the character.

It gives 4 different Faces, and you can change the Faces with the D-Pad.

Okay, so it's like I thought. If it makes it into the final game, it'll be a neat bit of interactivity, giving the players more control over their characters' personalities.

It'd also be cool if it would change the appearance of characters that don't have a discernible face, like Ignitor. Maybe it would change his flame's color or intensity?

Some characters that might not work well, but with others, it could add some depth. I'd like to change Stealth Elf to be more like a ninja assassin or maybe cynder to a smiley little fangirl of spyro smilie
