So I haven't played any of my Skylanders (XBox 360) for about 8 months. I have a few characters leveled to 10 and I recently completed that collection a few days ago (finally picked up Wham-Shell). I reserved Skylanders: Giants for the Wii-U but probably won't play it until after Christmas since the Wii-U is a Christmas gift for my girls (and myself). I was lucky enough to find all off the currently released Skylanders: Giants figures but since I don't have the game yet I haven't bothered to open them. Because I finally got Wham-Shell I started playing the original again and it got me thinking...which figures should I level up with?

If what I've read about Giants so far is correct all of the original characters can level up to 15 in Giants but only the Series 2/reposed figures can swap skill trees and have access to the Wow Pow ability, correct? If that's correct, I should probably unbox any of the reposed I have and start leveling them up for when I finally get Skylanders: Giants.

Also, can ownership be transferred across systems? If I use the series 2 figures now with my XBox I should be able to transfer ownership of them to another system, yes?

I always unbox mine. What's the point of having them if they are stuck in the box?

Thanks for the replies. Going to crack them open this weekend and have a leveling marathon with my 6 year old daughter. Im also thinking that I'm just going to use the Wii-U once it's released instead of waiting until Christmas. I don't think I'll have the willpower to wait over a month to use the new figures!

Leave them in the packages. Let them DECAY.
