Hi everyone,I just got Skylanders recently and I am wondering what paths to take for my favorite skylanders in the game?Any suggestions?

A lot of my path choices were chosen purely on which buttons I tended to press the most (i.e. my most preferred attack!).

Terrafin I would definitely go with the burrowing path, but that's because I wasn't a fan of his punches.

I went for upgrading the Roar abilities for Sonic Boom.

Zap, I went for the lightning, but I think other people may be inclined to say to go for Slime.

As for Whirlwind, I went for Rainbows and regretted it. A lot of people said to go for Thunder Clouds (which I will, once I train all my other Skylanders up!).

Probably not much help, but those were my options.

I have all but whirlwind and with:

Zap i went with upgrading his waves and i really enjoy it, however a lot of people will probably comment otherwise but i find him more fun to play with using waves over bolts.

Sonicboom i chose the babies and i regret it and am going to restart her soon. having to depend on the babies to do all your damage for you was giving to much of my control over what i was doing, i reccomend choosing to upgrade HER attack, and may i add her ONLY attack that she has, other than baby summons...

Terrafin i Chose to upgrade his fists, and i know i am going to be the only one to say this, everyone else chooses burrower but i think i am going to restart him too and see how he does with that, then i will try to comment again if you havent already made your decisions

I did whirlwind on thunder clouds andsonic boom with babies and regret it but how do you restart your skylanders?

I only have sonic boom, and I chose the roar for her. She's probably my second best Skylander now (after Stealth elf of course)

if you have wii version you press - then go to the last page with all the options: Hats, nicknames, etc. and one of them should be restart or something like that. and it gets rid of all your experience and money, pretty much it makes it so your putting it on for the first time... again

For Terrafin, there's no bad build, it's just that there's one Godlike build and one build that's simply very good. Go with Sandhog; it's perhaps the game's best overall character, and at very least, in the absolute upper eschelon.

Whirlwind should be Tempest Dragon. The rainbow path is an inferior "hurler" to Boomer, while Tempest Dragon is actually quite incredible in my opinion, and a powerful force in PVP as well.

Sonic Boom... well, this one's up to you. Medea Griffon is fun; the only path of its type in the game, and much more amusing than Siren Griffon. However, Siren is a greater destructive force, and will probably serve you better, even if the attacks are more generic by comparison.

For Zap, do yourself a favor and pick Slime Serpent. Tesla Dragon, while it may seem good at first, is quite redundant next to superior projectile-based attackers like Hex, Flameslinger, and especially Drobot.

At the end of the day, though, there are few truly bad builds. Play what will be more fun for you.

I don't have Sonic Boom but:

For Whirlwind I did the rainbow attack. The thunder attack is really bad and I hardly ever use it.
For Zap I chose the electric attacks. The water attack just slows the other person down, so upgrading the electric attack can easily kill your enemies.
For Terrafin I did fists. The only real reason I use the burrow attack is to dodge every attack, I rarely attack with burrow.
And for Stealth Elf I did the blades. Scarecrows are useless considering that tons of enemies can knock them down in 1 or 2 hits.
But when I get Sonic Boom, I am going to upgrade his roar attack, leaving the babies to fight is no fun

Whirlwind is amazing with the Rainbow path. The Rainbow Black Hole (wrap your head around that huh) is sick and the bouncing rainbows are sick too.

Sonicboom is awesome if you take the hatchling path. The babies can be a little buggy though but still a lot of fun.

Terafin go Landshark all the way. The heat-seaking baby sharks and fin damage are a lot of fun.

I went slime with zap...super powerful and a lot of fun.

Ya. people say that temptest dragon is the best, but the ultiamte rainbower seems more powerful and fun to me

Here's what I went with for them. I also have it typed up on the paths recommendation thread.

Whirlwind: Ultimate Rainbower path. It's a lot of fun shooting out the rainbows, and personally, I prefer the breath based attacks. I guess from what people said, Tempest Dragon does more damage but I'd trade damage in for Whirly to her being more fun.

Zap: Tesla Dragon. Again, breath powers are my favorites. I never really cared for the slime, and what you get before you start the paths is just fine by me.

Sonic Boom: Whatever the baby path is. It's like unique to SB so I went with that even though from what I understand, the roar path does more damage. What's nice is that during the cutscenes when it tells you about a creature, the babies will attack it! haha

Terrafin: Brawler. I guess the other one is the preferred path but to heck with that. Terrafin with those giant knuckles things do a crazy amount of damage to pretty much everything in the game. So you can basically breeze through any level with him.

for terrafin you can choose whatever you like more. sandhog is better, but i choose brawler cause i love meelee combos (and frenzy shield too). they are both good paths
for sonic boom, if you want do pvp, go with babies. your roar will still be powerful and tossing the eggs will deal a lot of damage. the babies are also very annoying. for the story the siren path is better against multiple enemies, but medea is also good

I leveled up Stealth Elf & Drobot to 10 tonight. I picked the blade path for Stealth Elf & the laser attack for Drobot. They both completely dominate with those paths. Upgraded Slam Bam to level 10 earlier this week & chose the fist attack path & he is also unstoppable.

Hi I'm new but have Camo and chose the water melon master which is AWESOME!
With Zap I went for the telsa dragon which is makes him a good dodger and an awesome attacker.
With Drobot you HAVE to go with the master blaster- Drobot's my best skylander and can easily beat 'lair of Kaos'.
