I used to have the Game Pak for this game. Once, I was in one of Sheila's levels and I kept losing lives. When I was about to get the Game Over screen, I pressed Start so I could get out of the level without getting the game over. Instead, the screen automatically shifted me to the Game Over screen. When I continued the game, it looked like hell - everything was out of place. The graphics were completely screwed. I couldn't even tell where I was going. When I tried talking to one of the NPCs, the screen blacked out. The only thing I have to say is that I have no idea why this glitch happens. So, anyone else tried it? (It only works on the separate Game Pak and on its separate ROM.)

Hrrmm... Nope. But I haven't played in a really long time. What level was it?

^ You can do it in every Sheila level. Other levels, I don't think so.

^Then I'll find a Sheila level and possibly try it. Got nothing better to do anyways.

I just tried it. Worked too! xD Got the game console in head right now and the graphics really ARE messed up! I wonder why that happens...?

^I wonder too. Maybe the game is trying to teach you a lesson about facing the Game Over screen with dignity.

^God knows. But that was some creepy graphics issue. It let me talk to the dragon elder, and then I decided to freeze him, and chrage at him, and THEN my screen blacked out and there was static noise that scared the heck out of me.

Maybe you pulled out the cartridge while the system was on one time, like I did. Oh how I regret it.

Nope. I tried it on an emulator and the same exact thing happened.

Hmm. Think Ill have to pull out the near-dead laptop I use for corrupting games and test that out.

It may be a coding glitch. When we try to trigger the pause menu, which is player induced, and the game over menu triggers, which is automatic coding I belive, and it happens at the same time, the game over screen coding overides the pause menu code, since it's induced by the player, not automatic when something happens. So that might cause the game to freak out and not know what to do anymore. Just a guess. I'm probably wrong since I don't know anything about game coding yet, but it seems possible, right?

Kind of like the MasterHand glitch in Super Smash Bros Melee. Except less awesome and more like the result of dividing by zero.

I only played the game once, but I never experienced that glitch. Did it ever fix itself?

Yeah, I've experienced this. For me, the Pause menu overlapped the actual game, which is why there are 2 Sparx there. It's fun
