Anyone else reset a character? [CLOSED]

I recently decided that I wanted to go down the other upgrade path with Stump Smash, so I reset him. It was slightly annoying, since I had already selected the upgrade path, but hadn't actually bought a new upgrade. While I was at it, I went through all my characters and also decided that Bash's "rolling" upgrades would be more exciting, so I reset him. Prism Break was fully upgraded with the crystal path (armor, triple prisms), but I thought the beam upgrades would be interesting to try, so I reset him as well.

So, out of my 28 characters, I reset three. I am satisfied with the rest. I initially selected the upgrade paths related to the secondary attacks, but now I am just looking at what is the most fun, or most thematic.

I reset my Gillie to use water cannon as that was the key to getting an achievement.

I just reset all of my characters in order to beat some of the near impossible to beat Heroic Challenges with fully leveled up characters like Drobot's challenge where you need to avoid killing Purple Chompies.

^This... only it's a trophy smilie

I don't like it though, I know theoretically the damage output is better and maybe it's just because I haven't used him much since but I find him annoying to use now... the jetpack is a bit more useful on water weaver but... hmm... I really liked Gill during story mode as Harpooner... maybe if I played more pvp I'd like Water Weaver better.

I thought I'd have to do this but it turns out you can actually do Drobot's challenge with most characters fully upgraded... I even managed to do it with a fully upgraded Golden Frenzy Trigger Happy... took a few goes but less time than it would have taken to re-level him, get the money to upgrade again and do all his other challenges.

This is the only good thing about Legendary Skylanders. You can have a different path for both the original and the re-colour.

Yeah, same here. I was dreading doing it for (literally) days, because I figured it would take me forever to get him back leveled all the way up... but man, a couple runs through Quicksilver Vault and you're rolling in the xp bubbles, lol!

I've reset a few characters, although I can't remember off the top of my head. Probably will reset more down the line.

Ditto. My step-son reset Slam Bam, Terrafin and Zap as well, thinking that meant he could play them without my encouraging him to play those who weren't fully leveled. Argh!

If you have a large collection, you get 200%+ experience bonus, which makes it very fast to level. I was playing with my girlfriend the other day, and my Level 2 Stump Smash went to level 4 in literally 2 minutes of the Stonetown level. I tried playing in a new game save without any characters registered and the experience gain was very slow.

I reset Sonic Boom and Gill Grunt because I wanted their other upgrade paths.

I reset Cynder because I disliked the ghost that constantly followed her around for the soul gem upgrade.

I reset a few. My only complaint is going through all the hero challenges again!

I am thinking about resetting my Drobot, he doesn't have the laser upgrade

@Zing: It's not that bad, I reset all my opened Skylanders and I've casually ran 14/19 of them on low levels through the Zap, Slam Bam, and the 6 Speed Challenges.

Yes, if you don't mind having no upgrades, it is very easy to level them via the heroic challenges. It's the coins that are hard to come by.

I reset Drobot, just do do his Heroic Challenge (which worked, by the way). Two pieces of advice here.... If you do this for the challenge, level him up in other levels. He kept leveling up in the challenge and killing the purple chompies in the process. The other piece of advice, is that you NOT do the upgrade path for the blades! Stick with the laser eyes! They are far more powerful. I chose the blades after finishing the challenge, and now will likely reset him again and go with the laser path. He was the one that I referred to as "the closer" when I needed someone really strong. Likely the strongest when it comes to enemies....

The only reason I'm resetting them all is because I want to start a new game, and it'll be pretty easy with 25 level 10, fully upgraded skylanders.

I've been planning on starting a new game when I've got 3 or more new characters to avoid having to reset any (and just use my others to open gates). I'm going to see if I can sneakily get my husband into the game... he seemed quite interested in it at first and was enjoying watching me play on the Sunday I first started it but seemed to lose interest after he came home from work on Monday and saw I'd managed to sneak in a few levels while the baby was asleep...
