Man do they take a while to complete for every character! I've got 19 figures and have only upgraded speed 4x on each. I'm dreading the paltry +3 armor challenges.

I've not even gotten to the Heroic Challenges yet; I have about 13 of them completed on Gill Grunt (thanks to a friend!), but it's going to be a daunting task at best. One I'll look at once I'm 100% through the game again.

I beat almost all of them of the current ones I have unlock, minus some of the ones that are basically impossible when you're fully upgraded. (Namely, Drobot's Challenge)

I've been beating most of them with Spyro, although I'll probably have to use someone else to do some of them.

I'm done with Speed for now (don't have Double Trouble, obviously, for the final Speed challenge), so I'm moving on to Elemental Power next. I prefer going at it systematically, so I'm taking all 19 of my characters through a couple of challenges every day or two. I'm going with the Elemental Power challenges since they are +9 each (and I only have three of the possible 6 characters that unlock those challenges).

Spyro wiki says that "each point of Elemental Power increases the bonus damage Skylanders get by +1% while they're in their own Elemental Zone, or while duelling a Skylander of an element they're strong against. Skylanders also get a +7 bonus to their Elemental Power for each other unlocked Skylander of the same element."

So if I can complete the 3 challenges I have now, and the two more that I will (hopefully) have soon with Slam Bam and Drill Sergeant, that's a whopping +45 Elemental Power, or +45% damage in the right zone. Pretty strong upgrade.

Chance of registering a critical hit only goes up 1% for every 5 points, and chance of blocking an attack only goes up 1% for every 3 points, so I will be doing those last.

Looking at the challenge descriptions, it appears there are only three that want you do destroy or kill certain items (or emenies) and not others:

  • Drobot's challenge: Hit green chompies and NOT purple
  • Double Trouble's challenge: Hit trolls, not paintings
  • Slam Bam's challenge: Destroy barrels of the right color

So, you think these should be done early so that some characters' upgrades won't be a disadvantage? Are there any others?

I'm just doing each challenge once, I only have the Skylander who's challenge it belongs too do that challenge. Eg, Spyro only does Spyro's challenge. Can't see the point in doing the same challenge OVER and OVER, especially when I'm not going to get all the skylanders.

I haven't really looked at the characters I don't have, but yeah the ones where they want you to hit a specific thing is usually the hardest with many of the characters once they're fully leveled because their range of attack gets pretty big. Case in point, Spyro and the fireballs. Within like...30 seconds of playing the Drobot one I had already lost for hitting too many of the purple ones.

Yeah, some of them should definitely be tackled as soon as possible. With some, it might be almost impossible to beat.

guys for drobot and ghost roaster I have their powers maxed and I still beat the purple chompy challenge rather quickly.. All you need to do is lower away the green ones near you and avoid being near the purple ones so they dont follow you. ghost roaster, kill only with the tail and be just gather all the green ones up in groups and let the ghost kill them, it's tricky. I killed 1 purple and almost lost but I am proof that you can do it hahah. Good luck!

The bonuses are pretty significant. That's the point. When a character starts with 35 to 50 speed and you can upgrade them another 40 points, its a big deal.

And when you do them over and over, you find patterns that work well, so they go much quicker.

you need 60-70 purple chompys then go to the secret room and get the rest... its easy when you know where to go... and the drobot challange is easiest done with a maxed skylander and no upgrades.... just try fully upgraded terrafin and you will have a very difficult time to complete the drobot challenge....

all challenges is easy when you figure out how to do them... you will do them in 5-15min each.. what is going to get on your nerves is cali and the repeating of what she says every time you play the challenges.. listening to that when you doing every skylanders 32+++ times each, is the real challenge....

At least they were smart and allow you to swap out figures while you are in Cali's challenge area. Instead of having to exit to the ruins each time. And you can skip Cali's speech at the beginning of each challenge, just not afterward.

Just finished Ghost Roasters challenge (+3 armor) and Drobot's challenge (+8 speed) for my figures. Ghost Roasters was easy after I found the pattern. I was finishing it with about 1:45 to 2:10 remaining each time. Drobot's wasn't hard because of the time restraint, but as some have said before, some upgraded attacks make it hard not to hit a stray purple chompy. Eruptor was giving me fits for 3 tries because I would get too close to the chompies and the blobs would go over their heads and bounce further than I wanted it to. And Ghost Roaster's primary attack created ghosts that would kill the purples off screen, which was frustrating, so I just went with the secondary attack and it was easy. Same with my Spyros - secondary attack worked much better than the upgraded (i.e. triple shot) primary attack.

Looking forward to having these challenges behind me.

I've done a few challenges with a few different characters as has my wife. We aren't going to really focus on them until we have all the characters and 100% in the main game. Only thing left for stars in the time runs in a couple and the enemy goal in the Empire of Ice that somehow continues to elude us. Personally I think I'm just going to pick one character and knock out the all 32 challenge completion goal first and see how long that takes me. I'd like to max out all 32 characters but somehow I don't know if I'll have the sanity to handle it as mentioned above of hearing Cali over and over and over again.... 32 Skylanders x 32 challenges each...

I think you will find that it will go faster if you just pick two challenges (maybe three) for a Skylander to complete, then switch to a different Skylander and do the same two or three challenges. Many of the challenges have patterns that can make it tough to remember if you don't do them over and over again. You may fail a couple of times at first, but once you get it, even the tough patterns become easy.

And definitely do the speed challenges first. You can do all six speed challenges with currently released figures (Trigger Happy, Wrecking Ball, Ignitor, Drobot, Stealth Elf and Double Trouble). I don't have Double Trouble yet, but I still have +40 speed on my figures right now - makes a big difference when you're racing through these things.

Sadly Ignitor's challenge will have to wait until he's released as a single, short of someone willing to trade. As for the others it might not be bad to try it that way. I have a feeling though the challenges are going to be left to me while my wife just goes back to play with the others we haven't maxed out to 10 yet or gotten all the upgrades for. So its still going to be a long process regardless.

I have done 24 Heroic Challenges for Spyro, Dark Spyro, Cynder, Drobot, Flameslinger, Ignitor, Trigger Happy, Terrafin, Bash, Sonic Boom, Stealth Elf, and Chop Chop. They get easier as you do them with more characters. Drobot's by far is the most difficult.

I still can not beat Terrafin's challenge with Terrafin himself. The chompy plants are TOO SLOW until you get to the very back of the mine and by then there's not enough time left. I need to see a video of someone doing that one because I just don't get it.

If you take the upper route of the map, you will find three spawners next to each other (they are not far from the beginning), these three produce enough chompies to easily reach 100.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to complete the Double Trouble challenge, "You break it, you bought it" #20 of 32, with a level 10 fully upgraded Hex? Thus far, keep blowing up too many vases inadvertently when hitting the goblins, no matter how careful.

Thanks!

@Hyena The only enemy that really destroys vases are the ones that shoot fireballs at you. I only take out those enemies and just avoid the other ones because if they hit a vase when you defeat them, they still break it.

By my calculations that’s only 1184 challenges, shouldn't take too long. Not!

I'm currently working on it, but have hit a roadblock with Sonic Boom, Boomer and Erupter not being able to do the Drobot challenge (purple chompies). So far I have 16 Skylanders with 23/23 challenges and 3 with 22/23... the rest are between 0-19... that being said I just picked up 4 new skylanders today... I believe there is only one acronym to sum up what that means...

When I first played the game I set out to level up all the characters and get them fully upgraded.

I was then going to complete the Heroic Challenges but now it seems you need a balance of low and high level Skylanders to have a reasonable chance of completing the challenges.

I don't really want to have to reset my Skylanders back to level 1.

I'm going give the Drobot challenge a go to see how difficult it is before I reset any Skylanders.

I can do all 29 in 1 hour and 14 minutes and yes some challenges need to be done early on like Double Trouble's challenge: Hit trolls, not paintings you break it you buy it the painting challenge and the trapped souls in the cat challenge. The rest are cake walks I'd try to do all the speed challenges first you will need it. On some levels if you are to strong with your attacks you will not be able to get things done. I am working on getting all of my skylanders done on all 29 challenges and I just might have to rest a few like zap voodood and a few others because they are to way over powered for a couple of the challenges. Enjoy these are a blast and it makes you feel good when you only have 2 seconds left and you just finished that challenge its came down to that on 3 for me yikes and 1 I had to redo because I missed it by 1 second.

Complain all you want about the difficulty of the challenges, or the ease. I'm doing them all if I can. Unfortunately there is no way I'll ever be able to do drobots. I'm completely colorblind. The one with the barrels wasn't too bad, as on mine the only barrels that break are the ones your color coded to. Unfortunately I can't even see a slight variation in shade between the chompies in Drobots Challenge. Looks Like his'll be the one challenge that goes woefully incomplete for me.

I beat almost all of them of the current ones I have unlock, minus some of the ones that are basically impossible when you're fully upgraded. (Namely, Drobot's Challenge)

I've been beating most of them with Spyro, although I'll probably have to use someone else to do some of them.

Yes, there is another - zap's where you have to destroy the cats without hitting vases. what I do is try to complete these challenges(not including slam bam's) before others so i don't have trouble when fully upgraded. Double trouble's challenge is very tricky with boomer and whirlwind, but eruptor is ABSOLUTE HELL!! even when i reset him, his lava blob still explodes a small bit. i had to do all other speed challenges i have available for him first.

I can't imagine doing every challenge with every character. So far, I just do each character's challenge with the actual character, then Spyro is doing all 32.

I am going to try to do all 32 with all my skylanders, but i will most likely just do all 32 with the ones i use the most and like the most

I can't imagine doing them all at one time (over 1,000 challenges is a daunting task), but I also can't imagine NOT doing them all, especially if you go to the trouble of buying all of the figures.

I almost lost double trouble's heroic challenge but the same time I destroyed the painting I also killed the last troll and I won!
