Trouble with Whirlwinds Challenge? [CLOSED]

Unlike the eight magic spell punk bomb challenge, I have a hard time hitting the stupid pirates. In the spell punk one it seems like the bombs kinda homm in on the spell punks, where in whirlwinds you have to be in a specific place for them to hit the pirate, otherwise they just soar over them. I play on a wii, maybe its just the platform? Either way, my melee characters cant beat it...

I beat it with all of my figs, but it is definitely one of my least favorite challenges. I also have the Wii.

Because you totally never went off on a posting rampage in your earlier days with "STICKETS LOLOLOLOL" and "^this" "^that" spamming with another member, did you, Whirlwind?

As for the topic at hand, since you continually derail every thread you post in:

Is this any different on the 360/PS3 version, does anyone know? I'm still working myself up to the day where I'm going to go on a major challenge binge and hearing the difficulties people are having with some of their challenges doesn't exactly fill me with confidence!

I'll have to try again, but so far I've had no trouble with it on the PS3, mainly because I can be incredibly imprecise with the bombs and still hit the pirates because of the bombs' large blast zones.

Alright Sunny I get it. I've learned from that. I was being stupid that day. I don't even know why.

I play on the Wii too. I've found the bombs hit the pirates on the platforms easier if you run right up next to the platform before throwing it, rather than trying to lob it from a distance.

It also depends on the character you play with. Like in the case of Chop Chop, if you went the sword path, his Brambles attack won't reach high enough to hit the pirates, but the combo A A Z when next to the platform will.

It didn't even last one day. You carried it on and on.

And if you can "learn from something", then let Dragon15010 learn from things without constantly sticking your oar in, and maybe you can learn to stop being a bully.

Good point. Try all of the attacks first to see if one can reach the platform. Many times, though, you will need to use the bombs, and even standing right in front of it doesn't always give you a good throw. I've had many times where I'm right next to the platform, but the bomb goes flying off into the sea. So frustrating.

On the PS3 I've done all of the challanges for the 10 Skylanders I have, and will be trying another 5 today some time as my neighbout let me change ownership of the 5 figures he has and I don't.

Most of them have a 'trick' to them... if you learn a good path or a useful tactic then you'll speed through any repetitions.

By far the hardest I've done is Drobot's, aparently Double Trouble's is very hard on the Wii but on the PS3 I did it with Spyro, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Terrafin, Drobot, Sonic Boom and Stealth Elf, all fully upgraded and level 10, and I only failed once (the first time I tried with Stealth Elf).

Drobot's on the other hand had me practically tearing my hair out, especially with my fully upgraded Golden Frenzy Trigger Happy...

Taking it back to Whirlwind's challenge: I think the bomb's range on the PS3 must be bigger as I've killed the pirates when my bomb was nowhere near it.

Oh and remember, if your Skylander has attacks that can hit things above you then don't bother wasting time getting the bombs, you can just attack them.

I play on the Wii, and I have had bombs fall right next to the platform and not harm the pirate. I'm not sure that I have ever failed on this challenge, but I have come very close when I run a new figure through the gauntlet of challenges. Just this past weekend I had a figure with about 9 or 10 seconds remaining when I got the final pirate. It is interesting how the different consoles can play very differently for these challenges.

Thanks every one, I think Himewad and I have the same problem. Right now its Terrafin, Zap, Dropbot, Ghost Roaster, Wrecking Ball, Voodood, Slam Bam, Stump Smash, and Stealth Elf that I haven't done it with, just out of frustration.
