Why are sheep always being targeted by our attack? Are they recalled monsters?

Only Hugo calls sheep evil.

And sheep are referenced from the Insomniac Spyro trilogy, where they are mostly used as part of amusement for the dragons.

I feel sorry for the sheep only because I don't like Hugo even more. It is a nice reference though!

Arbo also agrees with hugo saying that sheep are evil when they start to each the apples on the trees.

Arbo's perspective is based on an entity who has only been alive for minutes and who is lower on the food chain.

To take this slightly off-topic, it's in SSU (the Skylander's web game) you really need to feel sorry for the sheep, there's a fair bit of sheep abuse there. There's a medal for annoying a sheep for 2 whole minutes and in the Castle Assault mini-game you get 1000 points for every sheep you kill and on water themed Skylands you can find sheep encased in blocks of ice. And you could argue that Roundup is also cruel to sheep, though only marginally.

I don't care for them, but there was a running joke in the original Spyro game in which you torch sheep and get health for Sparx (granted its been a while, but I'm almost positive they were featured in a few cutscenes too.)

I don't feel bad for the sheep because of the whole referencing the original trilogy. This is going to sound SO wrong but it feels good to abuse them actually.

I like how if you hit them with s Beam they turn different colors.

Aaand its not just a reference to the original 3 Spyro games- Enter the Dragonfly also had sheep fodder.... that left behind burnt ribs as you torched them . I think A Hero's Tail may have had sheep fodder too? Can't remember exactly @_@.
Its a general theme across Spyro games, and I was quite happy to see it return. Even though torching sheep no longer turns them into butterflies (Which didn't actually make sense, but oh well)
I don't remember sheep in cutscenes, but the first boss you come across in Spyro the Dragon was Toasty- who (If I remember correctly) was three sheep standing on top of each other!

I think the sheep abuse is fun, mainly because you're not killing them and each attack can cause a different reaction.

I have seen red brown and Dark greens as well.

I got Double Trouble from Currys on Tuesday Sunny, and my neighbour got him from Argos on the same day, so he is around in the UK now.

The sheep were from the first 5 Spyro games:
Spyro 1
Spyro Ripto's Rage/Gateway to Glimmer
Spyro Year of the Dragon
Spyro Enter the Dragonfly
and
Spyro A Hero's Tail

They all had fodder which you used to stay alive, Sparx being used as his buddy who keeps track of Spyro's hit points.

The Spyro games are aligned along the top of the website, here, and you can look at the first five by these titles to learn some more.

A little. When you press the any button it auto aims.

Some of the stuff you can do to them is pretty funny.

i've tried knocking a sheep down the stairs onto the beach. then it constantly runs into the rock wall trying to get back to the tree. once you walk away and it goes off-screen, it's back up by the tree.

I knocked on down off the cliff. Kinda funny. Also, wasn't there 3 sheep at the start? What happened to the other ones? Did they die or something? Either way, I remember them starting to disappear after the weeds were removed. Why is that? Is it because Hugo lauched 4 sheep into the big world?

The sheep are really entertaining to my sister, 5. When we had 3-4 sheep, It was so fun, knocking them away stuff. Now, there is only one sheep! Like said, why is that!?
