I like him, but I like all the Skylanders, soo... That's cool if you don't like him though.

Seeing as the OP cant even correctly spell the character's name correctly to spew pointless hate this thread serves no purpose. Therefore it should be ignored.

When I first got the game, I swore to myself that I wouldn't get the characters I didn't like the look of (Stump Smash, Eruptor, Drill Sergeant, Lightning Rod) but after a VERY short while, I decided I liked them all way too much and I was going to get them anyway.

Let me guess, you 'hate' LR because he's too human looking in a game where they're all Dragons and stuff. He's a Storm Giant, like a take on a Thunder God, he has to be human looking otherwise he just wouldn't be right. I personally think he's pretty cool looking. At first I hated his expression but now having seen the actual figure, I think he's one of the best looking ones.

Okay, its probably gonna sound rude, but someone has to be the one to say it. Why is a 7 year old allowed on a public internet forum?? Plus allowed to post apparently unsupervised since they are making junk topics?

haha wish there was a separate section for the wittle portal masters.... gotta love their ambition but when there is an actual good debate or conversation going on, we seem to get the random comment "I LOVE SKYLANDERS!!!" (or something outta the middle of nowhere) kinda a buzz kill on the debate and you cant help but to stare at the comment and think "wha-.... seriously??"

When the game first came out, I knew that I had to try to get my 7 year old excited for this game (he has an 8 year old nephew that plays any and all unappropriate games for such an age). I made the effort and very quickly got him interested. I asked him who his favorite skylander was and sure enough he said it was Lightning Rod. It has changed many times since then, but his first love was for ol' L. Rod. I have to admit, after watching his video, it would appear that he has potential.

I can see that if a seven year old I know who has a love for Skylanders came on here, you'd all have no stopping in hating him. Basically, she's seven years old, let's give her some leeway, okay? Anyway, to answer Princess' question, I also dislike Lightning Rod. I find his design a little annoying to be honest, and I really can't get over that factor of him. However, this is just my opinion, and I am not aiming for a battle of opinions with anybody, because I know many people like Lightning Rod and are looking forward to him.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's too young. I was introduced to the internet at a much younger age, and even placed into a daily computer class during my preschool years, but my mother built computers for big businesses and schools, so it became a kind of bonding thing in our family. Nonetheless my twin and I were always monitored, and restricted to certain websites specifically made with children in mind(like PBS's website). Our society is going in a direction where everyone s expected to know how to use the internet, even elementary school children. Introducing a child to the internet at 7 doesn't bother me; however, a forum like this is definitely not a place for a child that young. I didn't pay attention to whether this forum has an age restriction when signing up, because it's been many years since I've had to worry about that, but most forums like this have a 13/14 or older restriction, even if the context of the site is something harmless.


Back to topic, Lightning Rod has started to grow on me. At first I really didn't like him. I hated that he was smurf Zeus, but then I thought about it, and really couldn't think of a better color for him. Making him pink/tan like a human just seemed weird and too generic. I guess, to me at least, he'd also be kind of cool gold. Like a moving/living statue.

On the topic of people being too young for the Internet, I personally didn't start using it until I was about 15 (but then it wasn't so widely available and known about back then!). To be honest, I kind of wish I didn't use it so much, myself.

On the topic of Lightning Rod, he still hasn't grown on me, but will probably do so when I can get him for myself.
