Figured, rather than start a new thread, I could MacGyver this thread to suit my needs.
So, I'm having some trouble with the challenge..arena battle thing on the Empire of Ice level for the 3DS. I beat the other parts, but I'm having trouble avoiding the slicers. Now, I got the Elemental Challenge crystal, so I don't need to use a Water Element, but I've been using Gil Grunt (level 10) to hover a bit with his jetpack.
So my question is...HOW THE HECK DO I BEAT IT!?! Rage mode activated. I've tried about 30 times. Anyone who beat that, what did you do?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I decided Monday to pick up the 3DS version at that reduced price. Then...I beat it on the afternoon of Tuesday. I was pretty shocked at how short the game was so here's what I'm wondering.
- I've been going back through and trying to get all the crystals I've missed. Is there any reward for doing so in the game?
-What's the best character to do the Hecktore's challenge version of the level? I've ran most of them, but some are just crazy and even with Stealth Elf, It's rough. I've found that some enemies drop the little clocks to get more time, but others don't. Is there some sort of rule with those? I see more drop once I get to 30 seconds, so I was thinking more appear after that.
-Has anyone gotten all the crystals and rebattled Hecktore? Is there an alternate ending, or just that same "Run through the level and try not to die" thing again?
-I added the 3 Adventure Packs, but I've yet to go to those levels. Are there Crystals there to earn, and do they count toward that 155 total? Or do you have to accomplish something else on those levels?

1. Not that I'm aware of, as Dragon's Peak isn't out yet.
2. The clock drops are random. Some runs every enemy will drop a clock, some runs you won't see any. 3. Again, Dragon's Peak. 4. There's crystals to earn in the Adventure pack levels, and they add on to the total crystals you need. As in before you added any adventure packs you might've needed only like...125-130 crystals. When you added the packs, the number needed increased.

1. There is a special weapon you can get, I believe, for getting all 125 main game crystals.
2. I tended to be fine with Stealth Elf, and I just spammed the dash button. I tended to pair her with a heavy hitter with a lot of HP, so if I came across a tough enemy, I could switch out. Unless you're meaning the Radiance Challenges. I tended to use Sonic Boom and Zap as a good combo for those. Sonic Boom's babies come in handy! As for the clocks, I always tended to find that the medium-sized enemies dropped them most frequently, but the large guys will also drop them on occasion. Don't waste your time on the one-hit peons as they never drop them. 3. I already had all the Crystals before I battled Hektore (the Adventure Pack ones don't count, as far as I know), and so don't know if there's an alternate. 4. Each Adventure Pack has ten crystals to collect (two stages). The main game has 125 crystals, so since you've added three Adventure Packs, that's why you have 155 to collect. |

So is the 3DS version worth it? I mean I don't have a 3DS currently (I plan on getting it in the future) but I really want Dark Spyro and the sale at Toys'R'Us is kind of enticing.

I bought it, and although it's short, it's pretty fun to play. I'm having a ball going back and trying alternate paths and looking for hats and whatnot. The only big difference is that, even if you have a fully leveled Skylander, your attacks are pretty nerfed (where you could go through the console and just waltz through no problem). Or maybe it's just that the enemies do a ridiculous amount of damage.

I've had trouble with that challenge as well. I used Slam Bam since he wasn't too fast and he hit hard and fast enough to take out the enemies before the slicers made their rotation.
There's a little area on the ice where the slicers don't touch, you can stand there and have the enemies come to you and hope the chests drop near by.

Lawl. Shortly after I posted I actually beat it. Even going so far as to get all the crystals I still needed and the hats too. Perfect 155/155 so far!
