My 7 and 4 yr old boys have a habit of just walking up to the xbox and pushing the power button when they are done instead of exiting the game!!So............... this morning the 7yr old did it and our saved games are GONE!! The first one was his and he had just beat it! The second was mine and my husbands.....very aggrevated lol

I think that only enhances the gameplay

i would give them a stern warning, then say "dont do that again!" if they do, time out corner!

Don't ever play Diablo on hardcore mode. I can only imagine the frustration you would have. LOL

Well I wasn't nearly as upset as my 7 yr old was when he realized what happened... He's been playing since Christmas to get this far! I guess it will be better now that he has far more to play with and they are already built up lol

No he didn't save.. He was playing this morning and told him it was time to go. He says ok and then proceeds to just walk up and push the button on the xbox rather than exiting the game like he should!

Oh, I see... You need to teach them about saving then.....

Yeah I have told him over and over... I forgot to mention he has ADHD so things that seem simple to most everyone aren't for him!! And emotions are over the top so he had a major crying melt down..hoping it sank in now that it really affected him!!

This should sink in:

You turn off the system instead of saving a video game.
Aliens invade earth, looking for exact data on that game, but it has been erased.
Aliens blow up earth.
You drift through space.
You then land on a hostile alien planet.
Aliens capture you and force you to compete in gladiator games against giant alien spider lions.
All because you turned off the system instead of saving.

doesn't the game have an auto save and did you try the cloud saves?

^Yeah... It does have an autosave... You couldn't have lost very much.

All I can say is that this has happened twice. When he put the game in after school his only option was to start a new game.. The saved games were gone!! What are cloud saves?

other day my son got button happy while xbox was booting up and he started the game before our profile loaded. There were no save games available. Exited out to the xbox dashboard and let profile log in and then restarted game and there they were. And I do not mean log into xbox live, just log in on the console.

Reminds me of when I restarted my game XD I was so pissed at myself

Good news!!! Kids went to bed so finally able to check game status again and the saved games are there!! WOOT

I thought you said they were "GONE"... how did you get them back?
Edit: was it the cloud? or selecting a profile?

I don't know what happened..I know it was turned off without exiting came home and after starting up new game was the only option....I am by no means a game expert just like to play now and then. I would assume it was slowing down and giving the profile a chance to load. I am not sure what you mean when you say the cloud. Sorry ;(

There is some weirdness on the 360 were you can cancel out of logging into Xbox Live or cancel out of selecting a save game location and it'll let you play they game but with no game being saved and the only option is new game. I came home the other night where my wife had started it up for my son and he was a couple levels in after having started a new game as a result of that weirdness. After exiting back to the dashboard and restarting it normally our save game was accessible again.

On xbox the newest feature is that you have a a storage system in the clouds known as cloud hardrive so if you sign in somewhere else you have data over there like saved games

Aha! So began my journey into console games...

It was about a year ago when my kids did not save their Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 game on the Wii and they lost it.

I promised to stay up that night and redo their effort to where they got up to.

I then got hooked and now played to completion every Lego adventure in existance (and now in the process of doing them all again on XBox) and have nearly completed every currently available thing in Skylanders.

Maybe you should stick a Post-It note or something over the power switch on the XBox that says "SAVE YOUR GAME". Then he won't forget!
