Something scares me about the fact we have a huge influx of new members, and NONE are younger than 25.

I have to admit that the game is a hit with me and my daughter. I am right now discovering the online game which is another feature of this entire game.

We tested the battle mode yesterday it was a lot of fun. The fact that each figure has unique attacks makes it a fun PVP experience. The maps are pretty neat too although I fell like the melee figures are somewhat at a disadvantage because of the great range attacks some of the figures have.

I know, right? I was thinking that the game was going to bring a bunch of younger kids here, and instead it brought more adults. However, it is nice having more mature users on here.

Age is not indicative of maturity. I've seen 10 year olds, wise beyond their years, act like they were 45, and 80 years olds act like they were 18. Age means nothing.

I mean, honestly, deep down, it's likely most of these new members act way younger that their chronological age.

Unless they are lying about their age?

Age is just a number. You worry too much.

Relax? It's a forum about a cartoon dragon.

Technically, not a cartoon dragon. Cartoon usually implies a syndicated form of artwork or aired televised series. It would be an ANIMATED dragon.

Animated and cartoon both mean the same type of thing to me.

That's because most 14 years olds fall outside the 6-12 target demographic of SSA.

I think you've really missed the concept of a target market. A target market is who the game is aimed at, is who Activision will ask to demo/test the game before it's released to see if they like it. That doesn't necessarily mean that people outside of the target audience won't like it, it just means that in the development process they won't ask people outside the target audience.

I'm sure that Nintendo will only ask children/early teens to test games like Mario, that doesn't mean late teens/adults can't play it or won't like it; Nintendo just won't openly say that their target market is kids.

I'm 21 and I have every Spyro game from the PS/PS2/Ps3 series.
First I thought this game sucks when I saw Spyro's new design. Then I saw trailers and gameplays and I changed my mind.
...I just don't thought that I would infected to collect them. Actually I just wanted Spyro... then I saw the other characters smilie

I'm 26 and enjoying the game - I managed to get my friend (22) into the game too, and we have a great time getting together weekly to play more Skylanders.

I'm 35 - my 10 year old son and I love the game! My two daughters, ages 13 and 7, also like it. It's rare for us to find a game that the whole family can enjoy (except for my wife who has never really been into video games). I think I'm just the kind of person Activision is looking for - my kids might like it a lot, but I'm the one who has the money =)

I'm 19 and prefer first-person-shooters but I think this game is pretty fun. I have both the 3DS and Wii versions of the game and all Skylanders currently out except for silver variants and regular version of Bash and Chop Chop. I plan on getting all of the figures and hopefully at least one silver one. I think anyone of any age can enjoy this game.

I'm 24 and I love Skylanders!

Saw the trailer on youtube one day thought it looked amazing and then I forgot about it. Few weeks later went to Play'N'Trade and they had a big display for it but the game was $70!! So I went home, grabbed my original SNES Earthbound cartridge and traded it for the game figuring I'd buy a few figures down the road if the game was good enough.

Now here it is a month or so later and I have all the figures excluding Hex (some of them gf is holding onto for xmas though) and anything Skylanders related I can find! Love the series and was never a huge Spyro fan before! Just praying for a sequel to get green-lighted so I can keep this addiction going smilie

I honestly hadn't been following the game myself, and had seen a lot of the "hate" going around on the Internet. Just a couple of weeks before the release, I looked into it and it really looked like an interesting concept. I got the PS3 one the day before release and played a little bit (I'd bought it to play with a friend but wanted to give it a go) and liked what I played! I then got the 3DS one the next day and enjoyed the different experience I got from it.

I love how it encourages people to play the game with friends by allowing you to use your figures on all of the different versions - my friend has the 360 version, and he came and played my PS3 version.

I guess it's fine for older people to like Spyro, this is cool.
