Well, the more dark's the merrier.

I've always wondered why they called the Legendaries and Dark Spyro from the first game, Series 1. It made me think that one day we could see a Series 2 Legendary Spyro, Dark Spyro, etc.

Does anyone else think this will be the new collector's edition of Swap Force. I mean come on it has all three starter pack guys plus two more characters and we have no idea what else.

its gane to far, we have noaw double up of legendaries with the darkies.... its getting stoopid, they can programme the damn new moves in the already exciting figures!

They're only gonna create the dark versions of whoever is seen in the poster? If so, there's a very slim chance of Dark Cynder making her appearance.

I'm annoyed that the majority are remakes of the starter pack characters... unless that means the Collector's Edition is a dark-starter pack!

Cool. If the actual version looks anything like it, it'll be a buy for me (and I don't even like normal Slobbertooth).
I hope a good bit of Blast Zone's armor is silver. Seeing as DNSE has three colors (black, silver, and purple), I wonder if the other darks will have somewhat different color schemes than the original DS.

No, it was his special power to control the dark. Who knows, maybe some sort of transference spell or something? We probably won't get an official explanation, but you never know.
I'm betting that Spyro somehow granted his power to control his dark state to the others, or maybe they somehow gained it. Actually, the swappers did get many special powers from the cloudbreak eruption, perhaps Darkness tolerance was acquired by BZ and WB.

Also, that's the .gif, the original poster didn't have the characters flashing.

Yes spyro made them dark ONLY SPYRO COULD ORIGINAL CONTROL DARKNESS

I've been playing too many fantasy JRPGs... but Spyro is a magic type, he should have cosmic powers.
Anyway, I really hope we get an official backstory.
For now, I'll calling:
BZ, WB, Slobbertooth, and SE were all infected with Darkness, but Spyro was with them and either
A. Spyro somehow taught them to control their dark powers
B. Eon('s Spirit-gost-thing) saved them (recall he used a spell to save Spyro when he first went dark)
C. Spyro used some sort of magic/power/etc. to grant them his ability to absorb and control Darkness, perhaps he learned the spell Eon used.
D. Some (presumably ancient and mystical) artifact saved them.

I'm going with C. Actually, Spyro, being magically-adept, probably could be able to learn Eon's spell, that actually might make sense.

Why does everyone completely assume that these will all be dark variants? Spyro and Stealth Elf, sure have dark variants, but also happen to be two of the biggest 'poster boys' for the franchise (yes, I'm aware SE's a girl.)

But this could just be a few characters used for something else. We have no idea that these are officially the revealing of Dark Variants other than a hunch from the wording that was used.

What else could "Dark Secret" possibly mean?
Plus, we know of a Dark SE.
Lastly, as Dark52 (may he live forever, so that we might all prosper under his glorious rule, etc. etc. etc.) pointed out, you can kinda see somewhat silver-y outlines around each eye on the poster on the poster.

My guess is that the "Dark" variants will be launch exclusives for Target, Walmart and Gamestop. We haven't seen any other variants except for Nitro Magna Charge and you know that those retailers are going to get launch exclusives.

Doesn't look that bad, Skylanderskids. You should do up Blast, Wash, and Spyro for kicks. Let's see how close yours will be to the actual ones.

2 single packs: spyro slobber tooth
