Hugo is one of the main characters in the 3DS version of Giants though.

I hope Hugo and Ermit return. But if that new person with Flynn in that trailer replaced Cali, will she give Heroic Challenges?

In Skylanders 4 they should have cloudsheep enemies, and you play as Hugo and Ermit to fight them off. (That sounded way better in my head)
EDIT: Also, it seems like there's a character in each game that's afraid of harmless white fluffy things. Could we expect someone to start hating on pillows? Or even...
marshmallows?

NO ONE CAN REPLACE CALI!!
And anyway Cali has all the equipment and stuff... mabye the other cat just takes you to the places but Cali is at the Hub and sometimes comes and HAS FIGHTS WITH FLYNN AND DOESN'T LIKE THE OTHER CAT smilie

Hugo can stay away. He was great for the first game but he wasn't needed in Giants.

Cali can also leave, she has her own life you know guys! (as in, something I forgot until the 3DS level in Giants that tasks you with bringing her back)

I doubt Hugo will leave the Skylanders Universe forever. In a way he's kind of the voice the tells Flynn and the others what Master Eon wants them to do. So he may appear in the begining of the game (I have my doubts that the preview video was the opening video as in more before that one.) So he might show up then.

He was in the 3DS version to take place of Windel who helped summon your skylanders into the game. Plus he's the one who went to the Skylanders to help rescue Flynn (at the begining of the game). So he may return in the 3DS version of skylanders with the same Role he had in Giants 3DS.

Again, they never really were together in the first place (or so Cali would have us believe smilie). But Tessa? No thank you... hope she ends up fighting Cali (who probably has some powerful ancient artifacts to aid her, I mean she did get the Luck-O-Tron and stuff)

I actually thought Arbo was the only NPC that wasn't annoying in Spyro's Adventure. Hugo would have been a cool character if the game were just written better altogether, so if he does return, I'm hopeful that he doesn't annoy me as much.
Tessa looks better than Cali to me.
I DON'T SAY THAT OFTEN! AND I DON'T SAY THAT OFTEN! ... Either way she didn't really do much in Giants(sans the 3DS version). I'd be glad to see her take a break just because she adds little to the plot besides filling the role of generic "tough" girl. In fact, I'd love it if the series had added new characters every game like Spyro's Adventure 3DS did, and it would also make you feel like you actually adventure a lot more as a Portal Master.

I still don't see them getting rid of Hugo. As far as the new girl replacing Cali... It's possible but I don't Giants will be the last we see of Cali.

As for the newer characters coming in each game... be interesting but I'd like to see more of a storyline with the idividual Skylanders... I mean they give them backstories and stuff It'd be interesting if they expanded some of them in the game.
