I personally wouldn't say I dislike it, I simply don't give much credence to it without a rep and/or some kind of evidence beyond "I said so". And it also has a very negative impact should it not pan out, particularly since he has many posts to his name. I'm sure he knows this. We will know for sure soon.

Way to go Smithy! I feel your pain but to not share here is your choice, but please continue do so. I know that it's a tough crowd but come on people have a little faith some times. I think it's legit, I'd like to see it zoomed out so I could see that it was still sealed.

He doesn't look as chrome as the past ones, but then again they don't photograph as shiny as they look in person.
If it's legit I'm glad they picked a character I don't like a bunch because it's one less expensive thing to want :u

The fact that the eyes are painted still makes me doubt. I'm just a doubtful person though so don't be offended by my doubtfulness. I do belive however, that Activision said they weren't doing full color Varients any more because they were too easy to duplicate. Correct me of I'm wrong on that.

Couldn't agree more!!!!

The photo didn't do justice to how shiny/refective he is in person. I'm sure once the Toy Fair starts there will be better pictures then I can take with my phone.

It's clearly good to be skeptical and not just take everything as fact. But--I personally think we could try to be nice about it. Give people a chance to explain where and how they found info. I think we lose a lot of good people--that may benefit us all if they stayed--due to rudeness.

Couldn't agree more. I was so disappointed to see Matteomax close the thread, saying someone has no proof is one thing but preventing them for responding is just silly.

There was another user on here who showed us how to mod the portal, and created a tool for backing up Skylanders who got so much much abuse he left. It's a pity that mods are driving good people away.

To be honest, Smithy had the moment to post the picture there and then when he first created the topic about the TF 2014 Dune Bug, but he didn't, which caused skeptism and speculation from some users that he "wasn't speaking the truth" or "tricking them". I mean, had smithy posted the image of the Dune Bug that he saw along with the topic itself, or at least mention that he would post it later on, then there wouldn't be any doubt.

Aura--I agree that he could/should have posted "proof." I also understand that there has been lots of bad info and we need to be skeptical. But there is a way to be skeptical and/or disagree without being rude. **I wasn't directing my original post towards one particular person.** It's just a shame to lose people for this reason.
I think the anonymous part of online forums makes people less cognizant of how they sound.

Anyway--on to the actual topic. Was there an "official" statement of some kind where it was said that no more single colored variants would be made? I've read that on DS a few times but never knew where it came from. Also--did the packaging have a toy fair mark on the cardboard backing? I didn't get a good look at photo before it was removed.

To be fair he might not have had the pic at the time.

The topic was after only one day, a longer grace period should be allowed. I know when I have taken pictures for the site it usually takes me a couple of days to upload them.

Anyway, Matteo has apologized and merged topics and all is well in the world (except the community has lost another user with access to inside/early info). I just hope we can all learn from this, but I doubt it.

I got pictures but a flock of birds started to attack me and broke my phone.

The packaging was the same as normal Dune Bug's, but had a Toy Fair 2014 sticker, and he was completely red much like the Red Camo is.
