I just call my Slam Bam "Bentley" and Jet-Vac " James Byrd" as if Jet-Vac's real name is James.

There's already way too much controversy between Skylanders fans and classic Spyro fans. Too many people would just whine if they gave those characters a re-design and made them Skylanders.

For the idiots like me who never played the Spyro games...who are they?

I don't think so, Spyro was only in Skylanders to kickstart the series.

Bentley is the Yeti with the horns and the ice club. The Penguin is named James Byrd. The Monkey with the laser gun is Agent 9. Finally the Kangaroo is Shela. They were playable characters in the third Spyro game Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

Ugh - I cringe everyone brings up the idea of Crash being a Skylander.

Crash would make an amazing Skylander, but they would have to pull a random backstory for him.

Am I the ONLYperson who would hate a new classic Spyro game? People would STILL complain that Activision ruined the characters and wont be as good as old. I mean look at what fans complain about and think about it.

People love to complain. I'm the ever present ghostly reminder of that.

I’d say no to the classic Spyro redesign (he looks too different) and the idea of re-using classic characters for Skylanders (unless they did so carefully, like with Cynder, and none of the ones in the picture above look like they would be a good fit).

But, I would totally love to see an Adventure pack that took you to a ‘classic Spyro’ world, with a long level based on the old levels and the classic characters as NPCs.
Heck, I’d even have Skylanders Spyro meet his older ‘classic’ self. I’d make the story be that older ‘classic’ Spyro had lost control and become Evil Dark Spyro by succumbing to the darkness. Skylanders Spyro (or skylanders dark Spyro who can control the darkness) would have to go and return him to normal.

The adventure pack would include an older Spyro (about half way between modern and classic – but slightly closer to modern), the Sparks magic item, some other ‘classic’ themed magic item (a fairy that gives you superflame or something) and a magic portal to Spyro’s homeland.

It would be an awesome nostalgia burst for old fans, but as an adventure pack it’d be somewhat ‘outside’ of the standard Skylanders world. Boom – sorted.

No real different to what they did to our beloved Spyro. It just feels wrong not having Crash in it especially since they have interacted before and, face it Crash fans, the Crash series is long deceased. They just seem so complementary and were both once mascots for the PlayStation, so it's perfect to have come in and the "main" (as in promotional wise) corelander for a future installment.

I don't want Crash as a Skylander at all. Spyro pretty much has no chance of getting a new game right now, since he's stuck in Skylands. They probably don't care about making another game that features him*, and I would HATE to see the same happen to Crash. They hasn't had their own games for years, come on, be nice and give him his own game again.

I like the idea of a Classic Adventure Pack

*Spyro in Skylanders is as relevant as Mega Man in Smash Bros. >.>

I want this to happen so bad. For a start, the classic fan whining would be amazing. But really, I've just always wanted an official Elora figure and same goes for a lot of the other classic characters. They'd fit well in Skylands and it'd be fun to see them come back.
