In a split second moments after the first cutscene, I noticed a strange character in place of my Skylander when I played Sheep Wreck Island. All I saw was a green, purple creature with a green tail. I suppose it's a placeholder figure that the devs use to position the Skylander when they enter the level.

I have a screenshot of the blurry figure, but I don't know if the devs or Activision want us to see it.

Why not post it? Someone related to Skylanders might not like your screenshot? Is this really a concern? I don't understand.

The devs may not want us to see the mystery character, and there are instances of dev members contacting users who post content they don't want others to see.

I would think post it, and THEN remove it if asked to do so, rather than the other way around... Meh..

If its visible in a legally released product there really shouldn't be much ground to cry about people seeing it. If its a issue and they want to "hide" development visuals they might have slipped through the cracks... Theres this novel concept called releasing a game patch.

who did you use to get him to show up? and what console were you on? and put that screen shot up!

I used Wind-Up, and it was on the 360 version. The mystery character appeared for a split second though.

Who/what is Template Template, and is there an image of him/it?

Template Template is some sort of placeholder Skylander. There was an image of Template Template posted by a hacker named matteo, but he posted it in a troll topic about me and it got deleted by a mod. Someone from TFB also didn't approve of the topic since matteo hacked the game to play as Template Template.

Why make a topic if you're not going to post the image? Do it.

Again, when I get the approval, I'll post the picture. If not, just check this out yourselves by playing as Wind-Up (or other Skylanders) when you enter the Sheep Wreck level and see if you can catch sight of the mystery character within a second.

There are no clearer pictures of Template Template, and I have none. I mentioned before that the hacker, matteo, posted the picture of Template but the image itself was removed, and the topic he posted it in was deleted since he created the topic to also troll me.

If you need more info on this guy, his attacks are:

Fist slam: Slams forward with both fists.

Slap: Sissy-slap enemies.

Tail Whip: Similar to Rattle Shake and Fire Kraken, but without any special effects.

It's a beta testing process, I just find it funny how everyone acts like it's not common.

A hair flip attack would be amazing! And the Sissy Slap.

I don't see what the big deal would be for posting it without the devs permission since you are submitting pics from a retail product that we will most likely all see once we get a change to play it .

Well I'm more of a cautious type, and not the adventurous type that is willing to dare the devs to forcefully take down content that they don't want to be shared with the public when it comes to stuff like this. Better to ask, than to do the risky way.

Oh I know you were being cautious, as you always are, I was simply stating that I would find it odd if they took issue to something found in a released product. Had this been alpha or beta footage then I could see their issue. Or if it was discovered under N.D.A. conditions (usually in the testing phase). When something like this gets past their q.c. dept. the damage (not really damaging as I see it) is done.

^There are. A user named Brad Ry did a Wii playthrough.

Wow what a bizarre anomaly and I wonder if we will ever see this strange guy ever again. With a few modifications, i think he could make a good character.

Of course not, he's unused and there is no way to get him to work in the game unless you hack the game. Even if someone posted a video of his gameplay, it would be deleted within minutes.

If only hacking the game was allowed, and I knew how to do so. I would love to play as Template Template.
