Please forgive me if this has been discussed already. Are the characters achievements stored on the game or the figures themselves? Like the coins, experience level, etc. if I start a second or third game do the figures start fresh?
Hat worn, Quests, Gold, Experience (Level) and Heroics (for those that could play them in SSA and SG) is stored on the figure. Everything else is in the save file.
Those things will pass from one game to the other...although it's up to the developer to implement how to interpret the data.
For hat, gold and experience...we are good.
The debate here at darkSpyro is why they didn't reward those who spent the time on heroics/quests in the first two games a bit more.

Yeah, it depends how serious you plan to take Skylanders, if having everything you can do for a character matters to you than you benefit from getting Spyro's Adventure and Giants. If you are just interested in Swap Force than you only need Swap Force as all characters currently work in it.
