I kinda agree. I regretted getting Rattle's soul ability. Does this change occur on Quickdraw? If so, it basically kills the uniqueness of an in game variant.

Did we need another upgrade complaint thread? I don't think so...

I think the new skin looks pretty cool.

I like Rattle Shake's Soul Gem colour change, it makes him look more like an Undead Skylander.

^They have rarely changed the upgrades colors for variants (most Legendary (and the Darks) figures do however) I mean look at Legendary Chill you buy her silly new armor and it doesn't appear gold and dark blue. Nitro's Gatling Gun upgrade is red (EDIT: sorry it isn't), Jade Flashwing's crystals that stick into walls appear purple, Jolly's gun changing to bees instead of the "enchanted peppermint", and so on.

That is comical. Make a character you have and make an in game variant to make it special...only to have that uniquness removed when you buy an upgrade.

Magna Charge's wheels turn blue, Roller Brawl gets a new hat, Dune Bug turns gold, Rubble Rouser changes colors...they have a lot of modifiers for the characters this time (which is good--except when there's variants of them).

I'll definitely not be buying the soul gem for Quickdraw.

That's strange, my Nitro magna charge has a yellow Gatling gun after fully maxing him out...

Starstrike looks really cool after her upgrades (I think it was the soul gem?), especially in dark areas. Hopefully the Enchanted version will still look different after the upgrade. Rubble Rouser isn't so bad, he looks like obsidian. I did like the grey better though. I don't care for Rattle Shake's new color at all. He looked so good like he started out. If he would have just changed to some other normal snake colors it would have been fine, but luminescent purple just seems weird. I'm tempted to reset him.

I absolutely agree with you Skylanders fan. Rattle Shake Soul Gem COULD have worked if his clothes changed too (brown and purple? I don't like it that much...), Rubble Rouser's it's just... I get the obsidian idea, but that grey was perfect, for him. Magna Charge wheel is ok, I don't even see the difference, sometimes. Dune Bug recoloration is HORRIBLE, but fortunately I prefer the other path, so I'm safe. Star Strike... Well, I would have given her that new look with the second lower path upgrade (the one regarding his dress), instead of the Soul Gem, but she still looks cool. Roller Brawl's is fine. Night Shift punches could have been surrounded by an evil smoke, instead of light (Undead Skylander, anyone?). But you are all forgetting the worst (in my opinion) recoloration ever: Pop Thorn Soul Gem! They turned that little fluffy ball into a metallic abomination! Oh, well... I would just like if they could add an option that let you keep the initial look of your Skylander, even when fully upgraded, in the next game.

Im with you with the Rattle Shake but Rubble Rouser looks better (well on the wii version, his textures were stupid there) but simpely just dont get the upgrade

Well if they wanted to get 'fancy' with it, they could have gone the 'colorchanging' route on the toy (body heat reveals purple), or a color shift would work well - specifically for Rattle Shake *custom time hehe* or for that matter Pop Thorn as they both have that metallic sheen to to them. I havne't gotten RRs unlocked yet, so I can't really comment on it.

I wish they made Rattle Shake's soul gem a different colour.In my opinion Rubble Rouser's is fine but that purple is horrible.Why not switch his colours around for example his body would be red and his diamonds would be yellow.

It honestly shouldn't be a true color change, it should just be a 'texture' change, keep that metallic glisten, but make it yellow still.

well rattle shake does shed his skin back to yellow but the purple comes back though but the purple does look cool in my opinion.

Actually 's bee backpack is white instead of yellow.

They got super lazy this expansion with the variant visual effects. Look at Legendary Zoo Lou...were those Spirit Animals blue like on their package???...Nope same old green just like the normal version.

It's kind of ironic because the Obsidian upgrade for Rubble is said to be 'harder than rock' when real obsidian is actually glass-like and fragile(though really useful to cut things).

My biggest issue is the fact that the figure no longer matches the character... If the figure matched the color change I would be more prone to get the color change in game. I have a feeling these characters will get re released in the next game as their color change. Much like Whirlwind and Terrafin got their armor on the figure, these characters will get the color change in the next game.

The earthy brown turns to obsidian black. It looks o.k. I'm partial to either look really.

I don't think swappers will get a S2 but I expect some random in game or chase variant to take advantage of it.
