Will any USB extension cord work? I'm playing on Wii U.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

...well has anyone tried it before? I don't want to buy an extension cable if it won't even work.

I've have one on my 360, and it works great!! I love having the portal sitting right next to us as we all play! It simply matches wire to wire, so it should be fine.

Edit*
Obviously, I haven't tried it on the Wii U but as Ghost said, and I mentioned, It's simply connecting wire to wire so it should be fine. I've used an extension on keyboards, controllers, etc.

Good Lcuk! smilie

We run a (very old) 8-foot USB 1.0 extension on our Wii portal and it works great. We did this because we were having problems with the figures saving properly and Activision support suggested moving it farther from our entertainment center. That fixed our problem and we've been running the extension cable ever since.

Granted, this is with Wii Giants and not Wii U SwapForce, but I can't see that making a difference. Throughput needed for these portals has to be very low. It doesn't take much data to update the figures.

I have a 3.3' extension on mine for the WiiU. I wouldn't recommend adding much more than a 5' extension. Much longer and you may start loosing data. I'm not saying a longer one won't work at all, but it may work less reliably.

This is the one I have (you have to select the size):

It's inexpensive and works great.

You should have no problem as long as the total length of cable between your Wii and Portal does not exceed 16 feet, unless you have a powered hub in there.

I've got a 30' cable on mine and it works great. No power hub needed on PS3.

I've added an Amazon link for the cord I am using.

Tigorus your cable has an active repeater which is the same thing as a power hub, it just lacks extra ports.

All the more reason the cable is awesome...It still doesn't need a power hub smilie

I have a 20' (?) cable that goes behind the TV cabinet, under it, then under a run and up under the couch. Works awesome. Bought it off Amazon, though don't recall exactly which one.
