How to skip Rufus talking... [CLOSED]

Whenever I switch on Swap Force, Rufus talks to me, saying stuff like "Welome back!", and "Check out what Eon/Snagglescale/Avril have to say!". It takes quite a while. I was wondering if there was a way to skip it.

When you get 100 percent on the tasks that Eon and the other people give you, does he finally shut his vocal chords?

You can keep pressing X on the Wii U to skip his rants sometimes. It doesn't always work.

You usually have to listen to him jibber-jab once. Then you can skip whatever it is. However, he has at least three different things to say after the story is finished, so you're stuck listening to each one the full way through every time you turn the game back on. However, once he's said it one time during your play, you can skip that message any other time until you restart the game.

For me it's that Gillman when you're on the river raft.

He never STOPS!

if you talk to the person who gives the next mission/level and say "NO" that you don't want to go and then quit the game, the next time you turn the game on rufus nor anyone else will talk to you. no dialog at all.

After he says each person once, you can skip it, that said, you could save time by going directly between levels if you're doing things like Swap Zone challenges, Arena stuff...

Complete idiot design decision. I thought VV was better than this.

Isn't it loading when he's talking? Because even when you can skip it, you can't skip it immediately.

Doesn't work on 360.

Doesn't work on 360. If you try to skip it whenever, and the dialogue actually goes away, the game stops loading, but you can still pause and go to levels/challenges.

He takes the cake as most annoying character in skylanders for me. Can't he just jump in that fountain conveniently behind him and just never come out?

Really? You have MUCH more faith in them than I do. While Swap Force is a good game with some good innovations, overall Vicarious Visions has seriously let me down with all the things they overlooked/ignored.

They got the hard stuff right...it's all of the little things which kinda add up. What takes the cake is how on countless interviews they talk about how kids want to play the same levels over and over and over and over...but didn't think about skipping already seen / useless dialogue? Forgivable but still kinda ironic considering the dialogue.

What I've done is pause the game and simply use the Portal Master menu to go to wherever I want to be. Not sure if it works when you first talk to Rufus after loading up the game, but it does work each time after that.

On Wii you just have to listen to part of it and then can press '2'.

when getting swap force, you should decide: do I want horrible graphics but skippable rufus text, or awesome graphics but unskippable text? There's a catch to everything I guess.

You only can't skip it the first time... but after, exemple you win an arena and come back to woodburrow, it'll work!

If Snagglescale really annoys you THAT much, you can turn down the Voice volume in the Options menu.
