Oh, my, god. Every five steps I take in any level, dialogue/instructions get forced down my throat. After every level completed (even after beating the game), a 5 hour cutscene ensues. I'm aware you can skip them, but what in the world, even after beating the game? I feel like Giants didn't have any of this crap. Is there a thread for this and is anyone else bothered by this?

No. No. It's not like you must watch them entirely... Pretty sure the game is loading during the cutscenes anyway.

The only cutscene you can't skip is Rufus in Woodburrow when you first start the game. Almost every other cutscene is skippable.

I am bothered by it, but only find it mildly annoying. Giants had some of it, but you could skip much quicker in SG than in SSF. Even for the ones you can skip in SSF it seems to take a while to be able to skip. I have SSF for Xbox 360 and installing the game to the HD helps speed up the loading some, but it still won't be as fast as you'd probably like it to be.

Just keep hitting 'Y' (or whatever button) until it says Skip. My Xbox 1 is faster than my Wii U it at getting to the Skip option, so I assume it's just loading during that time. Once loaded, you can skip.
But yeah, it's annoying to not be able to move quicker through things you've seen over and over. |

Oh Nos!!! Plot and storyline!? The horror! Sure I get after you've played through something a few times it can be a bit annoying but its hardly something to get bent out of shape over.
If you think any scene with Patrick Warburton doing voice over for Flynn is crap... Well, there is no hope for you in this world. |

Lol, in LEGO Universe, every time you came to certain areas, a tutorial thing would come up. But it was narrated by Patrick Stewart. So it was awesome! :P

On 360 I installed to harddrive, this helps the game load faster and thus skip the 'after a while annoying' plot.

It bothers me. Greatly.
I feel like there is too much talking that interrupts the gameplay. Not only that, but the ps3 version takes AGES to load during cutscenes. I find myself mashing triangle to skip the scene, which it manages to do halfway through. It's little reasons like that which stop me from going back and playing the game. It just takes too long to get started. I can't pick it up while I'm waiting for something to happen in an hour, because by the time I get it going, I'll have to shut it off shortly afterwards. To me, Giants feels like a superior game, and it's still my favourite in the series. After you sat through it once, everything was skipable. It was fun and easy to just pick up and play.

I don't understand why this is even a problem and got so much worse in this game. It was very good how they had it in Giants because even though there was lots of dialogue and many cutscenes, you could pretty much all of them pretty fast. In SF I understand why you can't skip in the case of the cutscenes that are hiding loading.
But why can't you skip Rufus' intros unless you've heard them? Same with the dialogue of every Woodburrow NPC? Watch the Gobble Pod eat a Chompy in Cascade Glade? Why do you need to watch Baron Sharpfin slowly walking out of jail in Motleyville, or hear the chat about blue piranhas in Mudwater Hollow? And most importantly... WHY DOES THE SKIP BUTTON APPEAR SO SLOWLY?!?! All of the cutscenes would be absolutely fine if we could just skip them quickly but they just take control from the player all the while they tease you by making the skip option so slow. On some dialogue it's not even worth bothering with the skip button. Skipping cutscenes has never pained me more than it does in Skylanders: SWAP Force. I don't know if it's just me but there is A LOT MORE dialogue in this game than Giants. And it takes an unnessicary long time to actually get to skip it. It baffles me how VV screwed up such a simple thing and why we still don't have a "turn off dialogue" option for when we actually just wanna, you know, play the game without getting constantly interrupted by NPCs. It's not ruining the game for me by itself, but it is something that really shouldn't be an issue at this point, and has made me tire of the game faster. I bet you a third of the time I've played the game for was spent skipping dialogue or watching unnessicary cutscenes.

The cutscenes replace loading screens so it does not seem like it is taking forever to load.

'Go see master eon for bonus missions.' 'go see avril for time attack.' 'try arena mode.' 'Go do score attack.' I DON'T WANT TO, RUFUS YOU NAVI WORSHIPPER! ...yep, I hate rufus.

*press Y*
LOADING *press Y* LOADING *mashing Y* LOADING *mashing Y* LOADING *mashing Y* Press Y to skip! The "plot recap" thing is not a bad idea, but it's incredibly irritating that you're forced to rewatch the first half(ish) of the cutscene until you can skip it. Maybe they could've had you go straight into the game but add a little viewing portal or something to check if you don't know what to do next. Somewhat-skippable NPC conversations are icing on the cake. It also bothers me that the subtitle option isn't fully functional.

I'm fine with dialogue, but the delay in being able to skip it interrupts "flow" for those that have already been there, done that. They should have fixed how fast you can skip it.
For those saying it's hiding loading screens, I still see some ... so maybe it's hiding some aspect of loading but doesn't completely remove the load screens.

Correct, there are still some loading screens but most are hidden with cutscenes.
