Before you get all bent out of shape with another difference topic I just picked up the 360 version because they didn't have it anywhere for the wii u, reason is I don't really wanna by 360 games anymore since the new console came out and in time ill be getting one. My question is that does the game show up on the wii u game pad or is that just used like a controller?

It can show up on the game pad like a tv and or just track your stats,I have both and I think the Wii- U is the best version compared to the ps3 and 360.I also have the ps4 version but I still cant find a Ps4.

You can choose either. When the game is on the TV the gamepad shows your current skylanders' stats.

Yes it does; if you want it to....
It's actually pretty cool. You can flip between: "TV Only Display"- Where the gameplay is on the TV, but the person with the Wii U console's Skylander's Statistics show up on the screen. I never use the console (my son does), so not sure what all does show there but I do know that at the basic stats(with upgrades) show there. I am sure someone else who has it can give more detail. "Console Display" mode: Where the game is played on the console itself, without disrupting what is on the TV. This is actually really awesome- while some people are watching what they want on TV, "Junior" can be playing the game. "Both : Probably pretty self-explanatory- never use it. Where Console display could be used to the max effect (surely it wont be in this Wii U version) is if you could use the console for the Stealth-Landers' perspective much as it is used for the Ghost in the Luigi ghost Mansion game bundled with the Wii U (there's a chase game too). Imagine no one else seeing you on-screen, while you navigate around by using the Wii console as your "eyes". Obviously way too much info for the current version of the game to work. (prob also only be useful for arena battles or some Multi-user/online version down the road.) Imagine stealthing around as TrapShadow, laying invisible bear-traps around? |

Let me explain how the different modes of the Wii U Gamepad work.
TV Only Mode: A mode where the main screen is on the TV, and there is just a black screen on the Gamepad. Not really useful, unless you want to charge the Gamepad while using a Wii Remote instead. Console and TV Mode: Same as TV only, except for the fact that the stats screen, with the option to look at achievements for the level you are playing. Most useful for playing with multiple people. Console Only Mode: Opposite of TV only. Shows main screen on the Gamepad. Most useful when you want to play the game when your family wants to do something else on the TV. All of these have advantages. You just have a preferred setting. Like I prefer Gamepad only mode, as I like that position, and most times the TV is being used for something else. |
