I think it's cute, funny, and I like the animation.

Really I just simply enjoy it.

...Like I enjoy stuff like Frozen and Transformers Prime.

I don't like the show to be honest.
I do like the characters (some of them), fanfictions, and fan music though. MLP fanfiction is the only fanfiction I read a lot of.

Guess it also depends on where you look, because I tend to see the good side a lot more. But then again I make it a point to avoid the other side as much as possible, so maybe that's why.

But I consider the MLP Fan Dumb to be equal to the Sonic Fan Dumb.

EDIT: Really, though, I don't like the decent fans of any work being grouped with the crazies so I guess I'm naturally defensive. smilie Nothing that can really stop it, though.

One it has amazing artwork, animation, and voice actors.
Two it is funny and references other things (Rainbow Nuke for instance could be seen as a call out to older gamers who play those lame gun games. Oh and Borderlands even has quite a few reference towards MLP FIM)
Three it has life lessons in pretty much every episode (Like to believe in your friends, don't jump to conclusions to quickly, don't be racist , etc) (The racist lesson is somewhat from when they were scared of Zecora just because she isn't a pony)
Four even if you don't like one pony there is bound to be one that is similar to you.
Five The fact that the VERY creators are bronies themselves (And pegasisters for the female writers) and accept the fandom is pretty impressive
Sixth It created a way for people to express themselves differently then normal. Up to the point where some sites banned PP (Pony Posts) because it was seen as a form of rebellion to normality


Although all this wouldn't have been possible without the HUB's choice to take a piece of trash (The Original MLP was TOO girly for anyone to stand) and turned it into a popular show that created a web-wide masterpiece.

I asked the same once before, and I got no clear answers exept for the default "I just like it". My guess is that the show and it's characters have traits that coincidentally cater not only to it's target audience.

For example, I know enough of the show to say that the main characters have been specifically designed to represent a large spectrum of female personalities instead of a single archetype. It was supposed to make it easier for children of all social backgrounds to identify with at least some of them.
Unfortunately for those that are not so fond of MLP, it also made it easier for adult fans of the show to develop a cartoon crush on at least one of them.

I mean, I guess it's wrong to generalize, but you don't often hear a brony saying that he doesn't find the characters of the show attractive. Actually, most seem to actively go out of their way to make it clear to others that they do find them attractive. Perhaps sexually, perhaps not, that's not a part of my point.

meh, I never really cared for anyone that watched the show so long as they had a good reason for watching it. and it seems like everyone is doing just that. when you really get down to it, it's no different than guys watching, say, Powerpuff Girls or Sailor Moon. it all depends on taste I guess. :/

meh, I still knew guys that watched Powerpuff Girls. it obviously didn't create the same fandom as MLP, but still. :/

It doesn't matter if Sailor Moon is an anime. It's still a show that was originally created for girls. And in my eyes, anime and cartoons aren't that different. The only difference is that anime is from Japan.


does that mean I was wrong about guys watching the show? I always thought they did. though I've never seen it.

just to clarify further i'm not denying the bad part of the fandom exists. it certainly does and it's definitely horrible. but i just prefer to focus on what i can find of the good side, because that's how i am. :/

and horrible fan dumb aside, there's nothing wrong with liking the show. there's nothing wrong with not liking it. just please don't be immature about it.

I don't watch the show, but I think it's a cute show with awesome characters. x3 Sometimes, I go into the My Little Pony topic in Idle Chatter. I enjoy the very cool animation. I've never seen a full episode, however. ;________;
