I just returned from holiday shopping. I had went to toys r us & Target and I believe these stores are well equipped with inventory nobody should be getting ripped on ebay this season and that is good for everyone. TRU running buy one get one free and Target running but 2 get 1.... And a lot people were buying big quantities of figures, every swap character, lightcore and regular were there. Good luck to all and I hope everybody gets there characters.

Glad to hear that there's plenty of stock out there. To be honest, I'd like to see them thin the fat out a bit; every store I've been in has been overstocked with Skylanders stuff, especially Target which had the main aisle, the end cap to that, the end cap for the Wii U stuff AND a separate end cap by the cameras FILLED with Swap Force stuff.

At least this way it'll encourage stores to buy more product and potentially get newer figures in so we're not sitting on the same stuff forever like the tail end of Giants.

The overstock situation matches up with the already communicated "sales are lower" statement from the CEO. It will definitely thin out the more they have these kinds of sales.

I just came back from one of the WORST experiences I've ever had with ToysRUs.

They had tons upon tons of figures already out, maybe one or two pegs open, but they had a LOT.

They had AT LEAST 60 boxes of Skylanders.. 20 boxes of Giants singles, tons of SWAP Force Core singles, and way too many Spyro's Adventure singles.

I go to ask an employee to bring out a few boxes. He basically walks away from me, and doesn't come back.

I ask another employee, and he completely refused, also.

I then hear them talking about me behind my back.

Oh my God, ToysRUs, why did you hire such rude people?

Just curious what was missing on the floor that prompted your request...

I still need three to complete my shopping, and I'm done.

Lol, only Black Friday deals I'm even considering are the online ones. I don't mind the crowds (I grew up in a city of 7 million people in area which by American standards should have less than one million), but it's just too much trouble.
I buy most 'landers online anyway, I live in a really remote area these days.

I don't really blame them, but I'll have the courtesy to talk about you where you can respond: Your request was ridiculous. It is one of the busiest shopping days of the year, and you acknowledge that they had a lot of stock on the floor. What were you looking for? Also, it's well known that most retailers will no longer bring out more stock of collectible items for guests to rifle through. Your request, and reaction, is pretty self-centered.

I didn't bother with the Black Friday madness at TRU, but I was there last night right before they closed and the employees were furiously running around properly stocking doorbusters in strategic locations to be prepared for today's sale. The rudeness is completely uncalled for, but they should have given you a response to your request even if they felt they had done a good job of properly making stock available and out on the floor for customers. You should have read the names off their nametags and brought this up with management (perhaps on a day which isn't so hectic for them). I'm sure that would put those employees in some hot water!

Also at Walmart, I once asked a lady where to find canned peas, she dashed off saying she couldn't help me because she wasn't clocked in yet.

She cannot help you - that would be working off the clock, which could get her written up or even terminated. Companies have to have policies like this because, otherwise, they can get in legal trouble if employees are working without being paid.

At least you guys have sales to work with. Here in Canada, the only freaking sale I know of is $25 off a Swap Force Starter Pack on the TRU website. WHYYYYYYYY?!

Meanwhile, Disney Infinity is getting massive sales and promotions, which really makes me think that they're trying to get more Skylanders people to start collecting Disney Infinity.

Black Friday in Canada was quite disappointing for me.

I even talked with the manager about it. He says it was too hectic, even though there were much, MUCH less people there than at Target. Target was insane.

Ah, no. There was another mom that was begging for them to bring out a box, and she left, empty handed.

Self-centered? There were at least 7 or 8 other people rifling for Skylanders, and I'm sure if they brought out boxes, they would be happy. I was even helping some parents about what to buy for kids.

If you've ever worked in a position where you get paid by the clock or certain positions where you don't get paid if you stay extra beyond what you're supposed to work (exempt employees), you'd totally understand. I am an exempt employee and I worked yesterday (Thanksgiving) in a place that was supposed to close at 2...I had a bunch of last-minute ignorant people wandering around at 2 who wouldn't leave despite the place being closed, so had to help them out. Needless to say, I didn't wind up leaving until like 2:45 and didn't get paid a penny extra for that extra time. After that happens to you a few times or starts happening to you regularly, you wouldn't be so happy either. I've seen it happen a lot when somebody is on their lunch break and a customer stops them and eats up 5-20 minutes of their 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break...not cool.

So I stopped by TRU today with my gift card from their 10% back promotion. I was really hoping to find a Wham Shell since I read others saying they saw rare characters on the pegs, but I was without luck. I did find a Giants triple with S2 Trigger Happy and I was really dying for him. I was looking for something else to take my free spot on this trip and decided to take a chance by asking an employee on the floor for help. I knew it was a million to one odds and figured I was most likely going to end up leaving empty handed. I described the purple eye brawl variant that randomly comes inserted in boxes and asked if he might have boxes that we could check. He said he'd take a look and be back to me. After a half hour of me walking around the store (spending at least half of it waiting in the same aisle), I assumed the guy might have all but forgotten about me. As I walked around, I never saw him on the floor. After that half hour time, he came back saying he dug through every box he could find and came up empty handed. I thanked him for his time and made sure Customer Service knew that he went on a hunt for one item that i asked for, though I didn't mention it was a special Skylander in case he might end up in trouble for it. Just told them that there was a toy I was looking for and how he went above and beyond to find it for me. In the end, I looked around for something to take up that free spot again, when I saw a guy who I saw trying to buy up all the Boomer packs on Wednesday. He was told then that he could only buy 2, not every single one in the aisle. The guy tried to come up with some lame excuse, but the employee stood his ground. The guy walked off with only the two and his cart full of at least 20 or more FX lightsabers, not to mention the two other carts full of whatever repeat items that are clearly selling well on ebay. How do I know he was a scalper, you ask? He had the nerve to be with his son at the lightsaber display talking about the money they were going to make on those. Anyway, so today I saw him stash something away behind some boxes and then run off. I assume he probably forgot his wallet or something. When the scene was clear, I saw what he'd stashed: the very last Boomer pack in the store. Found my free item. Scalpers can suck it!

You've obviously never worked retail before...being nice to help somebody for a minute on your off or free time can extend into 20 minutes or more since one question or request for help can domino effect into other requests (customers can be high maintenance)...and then you get to work all day without eating because you missed your unpaid lunch break...but you've probably never had to deal with that. Thanks for looking at both sides of the picture.

I know, I work in an amuzement park and they don't want us working when on break or not clocked in, but if I am walking through the park from the stand to the break room or my shift has yet to start and I'm walking to my stand, and someone asks for directions, I am still supposed to give them.

Whether she is on the clock or not, it only takes 2 seconds to say "Aisle #" before walking off to clock in. I wouldn't expect her to restock a shelf, mop something up, or anything like that off the clock, but a smiple direction of where to find an item is not that hard.

The point was, she was rather rude about it, it wasn't even a "sorry, I'm not clock in, I can't" It was just "I'm not clocked in yet", then runs away from me turning down any further attempt to try and get an Aisle # for the peas.

I think the nostalgia of the skylander series has run it corse! I can't see the average parent going out every year and paying hundreds of dollars for the same concept with little replay value. Yes you'll still have your die hards/scalpers still wanting everything but for SSF I've noticed everywhere there is an abundance of characters except for LC smolder dash that one seems rare! I haven't played SSF yet and I have all the characters except for LC's and legendarys so come christmas maybe ill see things in a different light?

I went to my local Target last night (central NJ) and the whole Skylanders Swap Force section was absolutely cleared out...all empty pegs. Walmart seemed in shambles as well. I finally saw all Nitro Magna Charge and Enchanted Hoot Loop figures completely gone. That is a sign that Skylanders has not run it's course! Not sure about TRU as I haven't been there since before Thanksgiving...they had Skylanders coming out the wazoo as of Wednesday night.

Wow, guess that guy has nothing better to do with his life. Scalpers are so sad at times.

^You sir are amazing. *applauds*

Yeah, except his disdain for the enter key.

Hah! Actually, for some reason I can't get Firefox to make new paragraphs with the enter key. It also won't show the blinking line in a text box either, which is equally as annoying. Never really used Firefox, but I can't get Chrome or IE to work with this site for some reason.

If helping a customer is a problem, they might want to consider other job options.

Oh, you are welcome. I have done my part with retail. It is why I do not participate in it anymore. smilie;
