Can the console version (not 3DS) be played without the Starter Pack Swappers? [CLOSED]

There is a guy selling a copy of the XboX 360 version of Swap Force without Wash Buckler and Blast Zone on craigslist in my area.
My son is getting the game for the 3DS which means he will have Rattle Shake and Free Ranger.
Can he play the XboX 360 version with those Swappers or is there a point in the beginning of the game where you have to have Wash Buckler or Blast Zone's movement abilities?

just some movement zones that do not need to be done to progress

No specific Skylander is required to reach the end of the Story mode. Wash Buckler and Blast Zone (and all the other Swappers) are only used to enter the optional SWAP Zones. They can also help with opening Dual Elemental Gates, which lead to more optional areas.

So, in other words, you do not need those two.

(But, this gives you a chance to get Boom Jet and Spy Rise without wasting money(if you want to 100% the game))

Make sure that you do get a swap force portal with it. The 3DS portal won't work.
