I'm wondering if any one else here is like me and collects only one of each character and specifically avoids variant figures (Except Light Core)

I own All 32 Series 1 Figures + Adventure packs + Upgrade items
All New Non series 2 Characters from S:G Small and Giant Lightcore where possible
Both Battle packs (sold the unneeded characters)
Light Core Prism Break (My favorite character)
Light Core Hex (wife's favorite character)
Series 2 Hex (Again for the wife)
The original 4 Sidekicks (only sidekicks to my knowledge in Canada so far)
As many of the Wave 1 and 2 Swap force guys That I could find (Again Lightcore where possible no series 2 or 3 guys)

I can't find a Series 2 Prism Break outside of a 3 pack around here but If I can I will pick him up

My pattern is similar. I want 1 of each character and magic item. I do NOT want duplicates. That is hard though, because of all of these reposed characters and repainted toys.

I was lucky with Giants in that I had friends who were Ok with getting The battle pack Figures without the battle pack itself (Shroomboom, S2 Chop Chop) and Whomever came in the other one that wasn't hotdog...

So I sold them to my friends at below cost

Same thing I did when I had to get Figures to get the Sidekicks at EB
I didn't need any figures at the time that they had so I bought duplicates of Giants I owned and then sold them at cost to friends who didn't own them yet

I definitely avoid getting duplicates. I'll get the variant if it looks cooler to me (ex: I thought Nitro Magna Charge looked cooler than the regular version, and I got the Dark Edition Starter pack, so I have my 5 dark variants), but I don't feel the need to collect them all or anything. I've started my collection with Swap Force, so I do own most of the swappers (they're just a bit too cool for me to resist), but outside of my swappers and my starter pack, I've only bought 6 other characters: LC Star Strike, Thumpback, Pop Thorn, Fright Rider, Shroomboom, and Chill. (though I'm pretty sure I'd have a few more if I weren't a poor grad student :-p)

With SSA and SG, I'm catching them all.

With SSF...I'm just after one of each pose even considering the variants, and even then not all the lightcores. Why 'catch em all' when the game barely even acknowledges it? It isn't worth it. Even then I'm waiting for things to show up for cheap. That rush is dead for me.

I just get the figures that I think look cool, unless they're in a starter pack anyway or there's some good sale to say "eh why not" haha

I'm the same. The dragon Skylanders are also a main priority for me to buy. If I get a figure that I don't like I'll sell it on.

I like to get one of each, but with SF I've been trying for the variants in place of regulars. I finally got the Fiery Forge pack Sunday and it drives me crazy to have 2 Terafins now... I'll probably give him away later. I'm excited for LC wham shell to come out as I missed the SA version and I'd rather get the SF edition than buy it on eBay. I have all the adventure packs so far. I think I'm only missing volcanic vault from SA and Fire Kraken as I prefer the Jade version. Everything is opened and played with regularly by my son and I.

I try to stick to one pose per character. In some cases I break that rule if I really like the character (Pop Fizz and Spyro come to mind) and there are a few that I've ended up with a second one. Sadly with battle packs and adventure packs, I ended up with some multiples and different series of characters, but I don't go out of my way to own every single character ever produced. Even at that, my collection is gigantic. I cringe at the thought of how much money I've spent on them all. I don't really do boxed versions of anything except for three: Pumpkin Eye Brawl, Voodood (that I was excited to find when he was impossible to locate in my area) and the only Darklight Crypt that I own. I came by the Darklight with a little luck back in September and I just couldn't bring myself to open it.

I do get some, not all.

I started after Giants came out, so I try to avoid SSA mostly. I have the Forgotten 8, and SSA poses of my favs, plus Slam bam and Terrafin from Adventure packs and Dark Spyro. I will sell my S1 Slambam and Terrafin though since I'll get later series.

I then have most S2, only missing 4 or 5, which I chose not to get.

I only get LightCores of characters I like.

It's often varaint or regular, not both.

I get 1 of a character unless it's one I like. If I like them, I get 3 (2 diff series + LC), I then get all Stealth Elfs and Chop Chops as they are my favs.

I also only got half the Giants and will only get a little over half the Swap Force.


What I have:

SSA: (19/37) Voodood, Boomer, Sunburn, Wham Shell, Camo, Ghost Roaster, Warnado, Dino-Rang, Dark Spyro, Drobot, Flameslinger, Ignitor, Zap, Slambam, Stealth Elf, Chop Chop, L-Chop Chop, Hex, & Terrafin.

Giants Core: (29/39) All Except: Spyro, Wrecking Ball, Trigger Happy, Eruptor, & Terrafin + have L-Stealth Elf, & Polar Whirlwind

Giants: (5/12) Ninjini, Scarlet Ninjini, Bouncer, Pumpkin Eyebrawl, & Gnarly.

Plans for Swap Force:
Core: (17/40?) Dark Spyro, Star Strike, Wind Up, Chill, Punk Shock, Smolderdash, Stealth Elf, Dark Stealth Elf, Camo, Bumle Blast, Chop Chop, Cynder, Roller Brawl, Grim Creeper, Popthorn, Terrafin, & Dark Slobbertooth

Swap: (10/25?) Trap Shadow, Nitro Magna Charge, Spy Rise, Dark Blast Zone, Dark Wash Buckler, Grilla Drilla, Night Shift, Quickdraw Rattle Shake, Free Ranger, & Doom Stone.

LightCore: (5/19) L-Chill, Drobot, Hex, Enchanted Star Strike, Grim Creeper

+All 12 Magic Items, 4 Battle Items, 6 Adventure Levels, and 7 Sidekicks.


tl;dr: I don't get all. After Swap Force I only intend to have 85/172? characters, plus 7 sidekicks and all battle/magic/adventure items except golden canon, & volcanic vault.

For Giants, I got pretty much everyone. A few duplicates came in the Battle Packs and the 3-packs with Rare Variants in them, but they aren't used at all.
I also have all of the in-game variants, including Lightcores.

I have all of both sets...SSA an SG....just don't have some of the non-in-game Variants(rock, blurple, flocked...ect.)

I only have four green base figures with no plans to get more. I've got almost two dozen orange base figures and want just a couple more of those. I have half a dozen blue base figures and want probably twenty more or so. I'm kind of a mix. I only like some of the characters, but if I really like a character, I'll get their variants too. Like I have both Tree Rexes and both Ninjinis, and plan to get both Magna Charges, both Smolderdashes, and all either two or three Star Strikes. I borrowed the green base adventure pack figures from a friend, and I don't plan on buying those either. I do own the Scorpion Catapult though, although I almost never use it.

Up until this point, I have gotten all of the figures from SA and Giants, minus the ridiculous chase variants.

I stick to only in game variants. So, to sum it up, I have pretty much everything except the Glow, Stone, Sparkle, etc. that I do not ever plan to own.

As for Swap Force, I plan to do the same, but as of right now, I am only collecting the variants. I'll get the regular figures eventually and slowly over time.

Yeah that's totally me with Swap Force. I'm getting variants now, and then later I'll get some regular figures when they're on sale.
